Starting next week, Sea of Thieves will celebrate Halo Infinite’s imminent launch by rereleasing content such as the Halo Spartan Ship Set. Sea of Thieves’ Spartan Ship Set originally hit the high seas in June 2019, first allowing players to unlock Halo-themed cosmetics that included a figurehead, flag, hull, and sails. Several weeks thereafter, more Spartan-based content washed ashore in the form of cannons, capstan, and wheel.

Crossover content is nothing to new to Sea of Thieves, of course. A free Pirates of the Caribbean update, A Pirate’s Life, launched this past summer, in fact, introducing Captain Jack Sparrow to the Rare Games-created adventure for the first time. A Borderlands collaboration event went live in the pirate game a few months ago, too, complete with a Borderlands-inspired ship set that could’ve easily doubled as in-game marketing for a knockoff McDonald’s brand. Sea of Thieve’s next event seems much more timely, given Halo’s and Xbox’s 20th anniversary.

Starting November 24, Sea of Thieves will bring Halo’s Spartan Ship Set out of the brig for a limited-time event that ends on December 1. The fun won’t stop there, though. In honor of Halo Infinite’s forthcoming release, Sea of Thieves will also introduce the new Noble Spartan Sails and Flag content in a celebratory event that lasts from December 1 through December 8. Since these are free offers, players need only to sign in during the specified days to access the Halo-themed items. Take a closer look at the Ship Set in the following post:

Rare Games announced all of the above yesterday, November 15, ahead of Xbox’s 20th anniversary event. Notably, the celebratory broadcast itself also confirmed the early release of Halo Infinite’s free-to-play multiplayer suite. It launched yesterday across PC and Xbox platforms and quickly began setting records for Xbox titles on Steam.

Originally set to hit stores alongside the Xbox Series X|S consoles in November 2020, the new Halo title from developer 343 Industries is nearly upon us. The eagerly-anticipate first-person shooter will come packed with a story campaign and full online suite, though two modes in particular were previously delayed – campaign co-op and Forge Mode. 343 Industries and Xbox plan to deploy both on an unspecified date in 2022.
