Seinfeld 10 Of Jerrys Worst Relatives Ranked

Jerry’s Seinfeld took material from people including his family members and relatives. He is particularly close to his immediate family, which includes his parents. Uncle Leo is a relative who he frequently gets to see. Other than that, Jerry makes Pony remarks and knockdown dead an old lady (we’re kidding!).

Jerry’s cousin Artie Levine is pissed if his name is mispronounced. It is Le-vine, not Le-veen. Jerry’s relatives are an eccentric bunch of people, just as any sitcom would have it. He doesn’t seem to cherish his bond with anyone in particular. More than the most, they appear as an unnecessary liability. Here are ten of those relatives on Seinfeld.

10 Nana

Ah, the sweet old lady who sends Jerry a $10 cheque for his birthday, every year. She’s Helen and Uncle Leo’s mother, therefore Jerry’s maternal grandmother. Audiences never had a chance to know Nana’s real name. Thanks to Jerry, Nana leaves her apartment after 25 years. A little cheque mishap leads to that.

Jerry cashes Nana’s birthday cheques on Kramer’s advice, thinking it would make Nana happy. Nana gets a call from the concerned Chemical Bank letting her know her account is overdrawn. She hadn’t used that bank account for months. The banker could have settled this over the phone, but Nana chose to go down there herself.

9 Medical Intern Cousin

The intern was seen at Manya’s, quietly enjoying his meal. He was also seen at her funeral. He referred to Morty Seinfeld as Uncle Morty. It’s, therefore, assumed he is one of Jerry’s cousins.

Morty kept talking to him to write a note to an airline. In the Intern’s defense, he wasn’t a doctor yet, he could get into trouble. But Morty kept pushing. Morty wouldn’t bother him if the army hadn’t closed that base in Sarasota. The intern held his ground.

8 Aunt Stella

Aunt Stella isn’t a major character like uncle Leo is. But she did give us ‘the-Stelllllaaa’ moment in “The Pen” (thank you, Elaine!). Stella is a friendly character, she’s seen arm in arm with her husband Leo in “The Pen.”

Stella and Leo have a son named Jeffrey. Whilst Leo is mad about his son, Stella not so much. From whatever little we saw of Stella, she liked to display good behavior. She nudged Leo quite often for his improper remarks. Stella loves The Golden Girls. Jerry’s mother hates Stella like poison. It is assumed Stella and Leo split since Leo had a girlfriend later.

7 Uncle Mac

Another one of Jerry’s eccentric uncles is Mac whom we see in “The Stakeout.” Uncle Mac may not brag about any son of his. But he blows his own trumpet. So, Mac’s writing a book, big deal!

So it’s an autobiography, why should Jerry care? Uncle Mac’s brief presence tells us he wants to be funny. But he fails at it, badly. Uncle Mac subtly insults Jerry’s work in front of Carol. “Watch what you say to this guy, he will put it in his act!”, goes Mac.

6 Isaac

Isaac, the widower wasn’t grieving over the loss of his wife Manya as much. He was dicey about the big move to Phoenix. Isaac assured Jerry Manya forgot all about the Pony Remark that Jerry made. Manya was more concerned about the potato salad. Isaac meanwhile was concerned over moving to Phoenix, to live with his brother.

Elaine wanted his apartment so bad, so she repeatedly kept asking what was happening to it. But Isaac was preoccupied with Phoenix-weather. He wanted to purchase an air conditioner.

5 Cousin Jeffrey

Cousin Jeffrey is Uncle Leo and Aunt Stella’s son. He works for the Parks department. Jeffrey is an unseen character in the show, best heard of from his father Leo. Uncle Leo mentions Jeffrey in “The Pony Remark” at Manya’s.

The Park’s commissioner referred Jeffrey for a citation, according to his father. It isn’t for reducing the pond scum but for the walking tours. Cousin Jeffrey knows the whole history of the park. Leo must love him a lot.

4 Cousin Artie Levine

Artie Levine is seen in “The Stakeout.” He drives the wagon to bring everyone with him. Quite a friendly guy! Artie Levine hates if people drive their own cars to social gatherings. Artie Levine is quite the chatty-Kathy.

He’s seen cozying up to Helen Seinfeld. He’d have liked if Jerry introduced him to Elaine. He’s married to Carol, who exercises restraint over him in social gatherings. Artie is a flight risk.

3 Carol

Carol is Artie Levine’s wife. She’s just as loud as her husband. She’s seen in Jerry’s apartment in “The Stakeout.” She tries to take a jab at Jerry by telling him he should come down to her office.

“You wanna get some funny material? You gotta come down to where I work. There’s a sitcom.” Jerry says she has quite a time at her office. She says she’s got plenty of time. Carol tries to be a smart mouth just like her husband, Artie. She ends up annoying people, however.

2 Manya

Seinfeld 10 Of Jerrys Worst Relatives Ranked

A horrible, loud relative who we think may be Helen’s distant cousin. Manya is an old lady, her relationship to the Seinfelds is unspecified, but they are close. We do know a lot about her from “The Pony Remark” (the only episode she’s ever seen in.) It’s her 5oth wedding anniversary. Everyone has been invited over, Jerry’s family, Uncle Leo.

Manya is an immigrant. She had a fulfilling life, she grew up with her loving parents in the beautiful country of Poland. She is a Polish immigrant, who may have fled Hitler’s persecution of the Jews, we assume. When Manya was a little girl, she had a Pony. Poor Jerry gets an earful about the pony remark. How was he supposed to know the immigrant had a pony, what are the odds on that!

1 Uncle Leo

What would you call a person who picks a watch out of a trash can? Uncle Leo is the most heard-of relative. He’s not particularly close to Jerry. By that, we mean Jerry would grab him by his arm to get back the watch. But Leo wouldn’t budge. He’ll make himself a hefty bargain for a $60 watch.

Uncle Leo is Helen Seinfeld’s brother. He is an eccentric fellow, a miser. He may have the widest smile each time he sees Jerry. However, he doesn’t always have the best intentions at heart. His ‘Jerry! Hello!’ is quite a mood-killer for Jerry. Jerry doesn’t like sitting next to Leo because the man will grab his arm to brag about his son, Jeffrey.
