Sex And The City Revival: Things We Hope To See For Harry

And Just Like That will bring Charlotte and Harry back to the small screen… but what are the cutest Sex and the City couple up to?

What started out as a hit ’90s sitcom transformed itself into a film franchise with the release of the movie Sex and the City in 2008. The first movie was quite a hit. However, the 2010 follow-up, Sex and the City 2, came with mixed reviews.

Since then, it was unclear if a third film would happen. That all changed, however, when it was confirmed that Sex and the City is getting a revival, And Just Like That. Among the characters we hope to see more of is Harry Goldenblatt (Evan Handler) and here’s what we’re hoping for him in the upcoming movie:

9 Get More Screen Time

Clearly, Harry’s not one of the main women. Nonetheless, he’s a critical part of Charlotte’s (Kristin Davis) life so it only makes sense to see more of him. In Sex and the City 2, we first catch a glimpse of Harry attending Stanford (Willie Garson) and Anthony’s (Mario Cantone) wedding with Charlotte. And then, we see him again during their kids’ bath time, along with the nanny. However, he doesn’t get much screentime at all, and fans would love to see more of him.

8 Hang Out With The Women More

Sure, Harry can be spotted with Charlotte and her friends whenever the opportunity presents itself. However, he’s out of the picture most of the time. That’s just too bad because there are times when it seems that a new perspective would be useful in some situations. It would also simply be nice to see the women including their husbands in their lives!

7 Spend Time With Mr. Big

Over the years, we’ve seen the Sex and the City men hang out with each other from to time. However, we rarely see them engage in conversation. This is rather odd considering their spouses have an incredibly tight friendship. And so, with this revival, we’re hoping we see Harry hanging out with the guys more, especially Mr. Big. After all, we’re also hoping that Mr. Big and Carrie might make some other big changes. And if that’s the case, perhaps he can get some parenting advice from Harry.

6 Go Out On More Dates With Charlotte

For the record, we haven’t forgotten that one of Charlotte’s worst dates in the series was with Harry. But a lot has happened since and their relationship has evolved significantly. Today, the couple are parents to two amazing girls. However, just because they’re married for children doesn’t mean they should forego date night altogether. So, with the revival coming out we hope to see more scenes of Harry and Charlotte spending more time with each other. Specifically, we really they go on some date nights again. Although, there’s nothing wrong with a lunch date too.

5 Develop A More Unique Fashion Style

Granted, a lot of Sex and the City fans adore Harry. After all, he’s a loving husband to Charlotte as well as a devoted father to their children. That said, some may feel that Harry could use a bit of makeover when it comes to his style.

Perhaps, he needs to dress a little sharper or add something new to his wardrobe. As far as style goes, it’s also possible for Harry to take a page out of Mr. Big’s playbook. Style is such a huge part of the show, it would be nice to see the men in the franchise more interested in it.

4 Have A Bigger Storyline

In the past Sex and the City movies, Harry’s storylines have been quite limited whereas the other men had some more compelling story arcs. For instance, Miranda and her hubby, Steve Brady (David Eigenberg), separated after Miranda discovered that he cheated on her. Meanwhile, Mr. Big and Carrie separated after he stood her up at their own wedding. As fans may have realized, these two men already had some critical storylines in the movies, but Harry is yet to get his. Here’s hoping it will finally happen during the revival.

3 Introduce His Family

Ever since Charlotte married Harry, we haven’t seen or heard anything about Harry’s side of the family. And if you ask devoted fans, it’s never too late to get an extensive back story on one of their favorite characters from the franchise. Over the years, we’ve only learned a few details about Harry. For starters, his mother had already passed away. Meanwhile, we have no idea if Harry has a cousin, or other relatives that Charlotte may have already grown close to.

2 Deal With Teenage Lily Issues

The timeline involved in the revival is unclear at the moment. On the one hand, however, it can be set in our current time. And if this is the case, it’s likely that Charlotte and Harry’s oldest daughter, Lily, is already a teenager. Sure, we would love to see Charlotte and Lily do some shopping or have a little girl talk. However, we’d also be interested in how Harry would handle being a father to a teenage girl. Would he let her date? Would he ask her to go out with Jewish men only?

1 Have A Third Child

When the women return for the Sex and the City revival, it’s more likely that their children are all grown up. These include Brady Hobbes, Lily Goldenblatt, and Rose Goldenblatt. If they’re already teenagers or even adults, the assumption is they wouldn’t be spending time around their parents as much since they’re already busy with their own lives. And since they would become empty nesters, perhaps, it’s time for Charlotte and Harry to consider having another baby. Interestingly, this might be an interesting time to introduce another adoption storyline for the couple.
