She-Ra and The Princess of Power was a revolutionary animated show from Netflix, with a very strong, fun, and evolving main heroine and a cast of lovable characters by her side. One of the show’s greatest triumphs has been promoting wholesome, well-rounded romances that only add to the galactic weight show, not distract to it. The show also has done a fabulous job of seamlessly integrating wonderful LGBTQ+ relationships into its cast, including the complicated love life of She-Ra herself.
As the series’ final season concluded on Netflix recently, let’s go through all the lovely couples revealed and rank them for their great impact on its fans and beyond.
Updated on February 7th, 2021 by Kristen Palamara: Although She-Ra and The Princesses of Power has ended, fans are still discovering, watching, and rewatching the popular show on Netflix. Although the series was mostly action-adventure, they took a lot of time building relationships between the characters as well. There were a lot of relationships in the series that were balanced with the high stakes of She-Ra and her team defeating their world’s evil forces. She-Ra also especially focused on several LGBTQ+ relationships represented in the show, which fans appreciated and enjoyed along with the action and platonic friendships the show introduced as well.
11 Scorpia and Perfuma
Although it seemed that Scorpia had feelings for Catra for most of the series, the sensitive and lovable Scorpia became bonded with the caring and empathetic Perfuma near the end of the series when Scorpia changes sides and joins the princesses’ cause.
Their relationship wasn’t exactly shown but it’s heavily implied that they cared about each other and most likely started a relationship after the series ended as Perfuma is one of the only people who believe that Scorpia can overcome when she was under mind control and Scorpia stumbles over her words in the finale commenting on how great Perfuma looks.
10 Peekablue and Sweet Bee
Fans only met Peekablue in the form of Double Trouble, but way back during Princess Prom, Adora was in an entire panic, trying to learn more about the princesses she hadn’t met. Two of them were Peekablue and Sweet Bee, who apparently have been dating throughout the background of the show.
Fans can just imagine the two have adorable dates far away from the Horde and the rest of the destruction, but if She-Ra has any spin-off series or films, fans definitely need to see them. Just from their names alone, they have to be cute as heck.
9 Light Hope and Mara
Light Hope was created to guide She-Ra towards the Heart of Etheria, who she would then use to activate the weapon at all costs. After all, the original First Ones reprogrammed her for that purpose. That clashed with her true personality, though, one that grew to have affectionate feelings for the previous She-Ra, Mara.
Mara seemed to reciprocate those feelings, often complimenting Light Hope and bringing her flowers. Unfortunately, their blossoming feelings only ended in tragedy, but at least the humanity Mara showed Light Hope helped save her in the end.
8 Rogelio and Kyle
Fans speculated there might be something between the two Horde initiates for a long time. After all, most of the squad made fun of and/or blamed Kyle for all their mistakes. But Rogelio is kind to Kyle and can be seen aiding or helping the poor, gangly guy.
In season 5, though, it was finally confirmed that Kyle did have a crush on Rogelio and with the war over, hopefully, the pair can find time to be teens in love, not unappreciated soldiers. Also, there was that shot of them caring for the cute Hordak imp together.
7 George and Lance
Bow’s dads are a unique pair, two zealous and peppy historians with a lot of dad jokes between them. It makes sense that Bow might be exhausted by their antics and excitable expectations.
As a fan, though, these two are an adorable, relatable pair of annoying parents who love each other so much and are so in tune with each other that it can be gross. Everyone can only dream to sicken their children so thoroughly with their love.
6 Micah and Angella
Fans never really saw Micah and Angella together because Micah was lost during the rebellion when Glimmer was very young. However, even just from hearing Angella talk about Micah, it’s clear how deeply she loved him and how much his memory influences their daily life, in negative and positive ways.
If he hadn’t gotten banished, they would’ve been an unstoppable team, as rulers and parents. They deserve credit for the love they had before the war tore them apart. Glimmer was lucky to have them.
5 Sea Hawk and Mermista
Maybe Sea Hawk does set every ship he sets foot on aflame, but nothing sets his heart afire like Princess Mermista. Though he starts off as more of a pushy, annoying sidekick, it becomes clear over the years that she does appreciate him, she just doesn’t know how to cope with all his attention. Because no matter how annoyed she gets, Sea Hawk is always still somewhere nearby.
After Mermista is saved from the Hordak chip in the final episode, her feelings for him can’t stay buried down and she finally blushes and openly appreciates his love for her. These two are weird and uneven, but so sweet.
4 Glimmer and Bow
Throughout the seasons, Glimmer and Bow were some of the best friends anyone could ever find. Especially in moments of jealousy like the Princess Prom, where Perfuma took Bow as her date, it was hinted that there might be more to them. However, most of the entire show kept them platonic.
That is, until the last season. After losing each other, their relationship shifted more towards the romantic. Though things were a bit sudden, their bond is still powerful.
3 Spinnerella and Netossa
Before She-Ra went full Catradora, the first queer relationship was Spinerella and Netossa, two non-elemental princesses who are married to one another. While at first, they were just background characters who helped lead the Rebellion, over the seasons they got more attention, culminating in season 5 where fans got to see the full breadth of their adoration. And when Spinerella was told she was Netossa’s weakness, all fan hearts collectively melted.
Even though fans never saw how these two became a couple, they are still a wholesome pair who support each other through everything, even brain-washing.
2 Hordak and Entrapta
One of the strangest couples in the show, by far, was Hordak and Entrapta. She was a princess, he was an evil clone trying to prove his worth to his maker. However, when they worked together, they found someone who understood their zeal for discovery and science and feeling out of place and forgotten. They bonded on so many levels and didn’t care where the other came from.
The US version keeps it a little vague if they are officially a couple, but other dubs call her his girlfriend in-script. These two may not be the best people, but they bring out the best in each other.
1 Catra and Adora
Whether it’s as lost friends or found girlfriends, Catra and Adora are one of the most impactful relationships in the series. Their broken bond is the core of Catra leading the Horde with such ferocity and passion, and Catra is the reason Adora struggles with crushing the Horde under her boot. But it’s always been clear that they meant so much to each other.
Watching them accept their feelings in the final season was everything and it made the ending so much sweeter. Catra admitted and accepted her love and Adora loved her too. Then they kissed as they should. It was perfect.
