Sister Wives has run for multiple seasons and viewers really fell in love with the Brown family, but some fans fear that the show may be canceled in the near future. Over the course of 16 seasons of Sister Wives, TLC fans have rallied behind Meri, Janelle, Christine, Robyn, and Kody Brown as they navigated the waters of polygamy together. But after a rough summer, the clan has now lost one of their wives, and fans believe that the premise of the show will begin to unravel from now on.

In November 2021, Christine released a statement confirming what many followers already knew: she had chosen to leave Kody and move back to Utah. Since that fateful post, fans had been waiting patiently for the highly-anticipated premiere of Sister Wives Season 16. The last season ended in a puddle of drama as almost all of Kody’s wives expressed some kind of unhappiness with him. The Browns were trying their best to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic. But with each household having its own rules, everyone seemed to be fighting a losing battle.

The disdain for the patriarch got so bad that viewers worried the show wouldn’t get green-lit for another season. A few longtime viewers have come up with a few theories regarding the reasons why TLC would want to drop Sister Wives from their lineup. One interesting idea had to do with a post from the network as they promoted a Discovery+ documentary about LuLaRoe. Both Meri and Christine promote the now-controversial brand of clothes, which has come under fire as of late. Fans found the post odd since Meri is one of the brand’s biggest sellers and came out in significant support of the company on her own social media pages.

Naturally, there is also massive speculation that Christine won’t be the only wife to leave Kody. Meri has opened up about her status telling cameras she has no plans to leave her family. However, followers see a different plan forming. Meri already has her own business, Lizzie’s Heritage Inn, so she could financially take care of herself. She also has been making new friends and traveling more. Janelle has stated she would not leave Arizona, and if Kody wanted to move, he could leave her behind. Viewers wonder what show TLC will have to produce if his wives all leave him.

The newest season of Sister Wives has only just begun, but it looks like followers are in for quite the story. As the family’s plotline thickens, fans hope that they can get back on track and keep TLC interested. The next few episodes will show the demise of Kody and Christine and the father of 18 not being there for his daughter, Ysabel’s back surgery. Only time will tell if TLC will give the show the ax.
