Sister Wives Why Meri Needs To Move On & Ease Her Severe Loneliness

Sister Wives viewers are aware Meri Brown should probably leave her loveless union in order to heal herself. The first wife has been mistreated by Kody for some time but continues to stay a part of the family. Most viewers feel their relationship is unhealthy since Meri is still trying to get back in Kody’s good books even though he has no physical desire for her.

The Mormon and polygamist lifestyles have been secretive worlds that do not always leave the best impressions on the public. Perhaps to combat this, the Brown family chose to be documented in TLC’s hit show Sister Wives. The cameras follow husband Kody and his four wives with their combined 18 children. However, there have been plenty of hurdles, as the wives have started to drift apart from one another and Kody. Meri seems the most ignored, especially after her catfishing scandal. Sister Wives viewers have felt Meri should just throw in the towel and cut her losses for years now.

Many find it unfathomable that Meri is still partaking in the polygamist lifestyle, especially after Kody has essentially neglected her for years on end. After Meri emotionally cheated on Kody, he lost all interest in his first wife, yet Meri sticks around in hopes of reconciling. As of now, Meri lives in her own home and is an empty nester. While she does travel to Utah for her bed and breakfast, Lizzie’s Heritage Inn, she is lonely. Most would argue it is time for Meri to start dating and live a life without following Kody’s rules.

During the Sister Wives season 16 premiere, Meri revealed she won’t be saying goodbye to her husband or family, as she has a duty to stay. Although religion may bind her to her reality, viewers feel she needs to start accepting her fate. Kody has made it perfectly clear he doesn’t see a future with Meri and will not be moving her out of the dreaded friend zone. Meri has admitted on the show that she is beyond lonely but is hopeful Kody will change his mind. Sadly, Sister Wives viewers don’t think Kody has romantic feelings for her anymore.

Meri has been trying to get out of her home more and make new friends. She works for LuLaRoe and recently went to Mexico for a summit. She also took a trip to Disneyland with a friend. Meri could take a note or two from Christine, who ditched Kody this summer in order to move back to Utah. All of the wives deserve love, including Meri; they just need to be brave enough to know their worth.
