Skyrim Players Plan Perfect Elder Scrolls Theme Park

Recently Skyrim players took to the internet to talk about what their ideal attractions would be if an Elder Scrolls-based theme park were to exist. Skyrim is an open-world game full of endless possibilities for attractions to be based on the IP and a theme park could be a fitting way to explore Tamriel even more. Players came up with some great ideas on what they would like to see, in a testament to the joy that this game has brought to players over the years since its release.

Video game-related attractions in theme parks are fairly few and far between. There are examples of them in various dark rides across the world, but there is only one actual land in existence based on a video game. Super Nintendo World opened in Universal Studios Japan in March of 2021 and showed the world how immersive a video game land can be. There are different rides based on things players can see in the beloved Mario franchise, like a Mario Kart ride and a recreation of Bowser’s castle. There is a lot that can be explored in Super Nintendo World and the popularity is apparent. More theme parks based on video games would be exciting for a lot of fans across the world.

User PartEmbarrassed5406 took to Reddit to ask fellow Skyrim players what they would want to see if there was ever an Elder Scrolls-themed amusement park. The top answer was from user BackwoodsPhoenix who said they’d like to see Stealth Arch Laser Tag. Other posters joked that the employees would have to ignore you if you were slightly crouched, because of the stealth mode in the game. The game’s infamous sweet rolls were mentioned a few times, as players hoped that there would be a baker included in the land. One idea was that everyone who entered into the land had to ride on a cart similar to the opening sequence of the game. The creativity and the replies really showed how popular of an idea it would be to have a Skyrim-based theme park, and how many universally-recognized aspects of the game would resonate with players in amusement park form.

Skyrim and re-releases are no strangers. Over the last 10 years, Skyrim has been re-released multiple times on different platforms and different formats. Bethesda even released an Alexa version of the game where players could use their voice to make decisions that would allow them to progress in the story. Because of this, there is a running joke within the Skyrim community. One Reddit poster even joked that the next announcement Todd Howard, director, and producer at Bethesda, would make about Skyrim would be that instead of getting an Elder Scrolls 6 release announcement, the world would see a Skyrim theme park. It would be roughly akin to releasing Skyrim in real life.

The idea of a Skyrim-themed amusement park made a lot of users show their creative sides. There are many possibilities for fun and engaging attractions. The set pieces alone could be breath-taking, and the idea of being able to role-play as a character in the world of Skyrim would likely draw a lot of visitors and fans of the franchise. Creating a theme park based on other video game titles, like Skyrim, would be beneficial, and with the popularity of Super Nintendo World, hopefully other video game studios will follow suit.
