Smash Bros Final Fighter Reveal Every Mii Costume Being Added

The final Direct for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate revealed the last three Mii Fighter costumes that will be added to the game, drawing from the Splatoon and DOOM franchises. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s Mii Fighter costume DLC roster has expanded since launch, as they allow characters to be represented in the game through the Mii Brawler, Mii Gunner, or Mii Swordfighter, without needing to take up a full slot.

The addition of a Mii Fighter costume is also seen as the death knell for a character being represented in the game. The arrival of San from Undertale as a Mii Fighter was seen as a huge deal, but it also meant that he wasn’t going to going to appear in the game. Fans felt similar disappointment when characters like Dante, Geno, Shantae, and Travis Touchdown received Mii Fighter costumes.

The last Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Direct revealed that Sora will be the last Ultimate DLC fighter, following lots of leaks and rumors regarding his inclusion. The trailer also revealed the three Mii Fighter costumes that will be released on the same day as Sora, one of whom belongs to a character who was also rumored to make an appearance in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The final Ultimate Direct can be seen on the official Nintendo YouTube channel.

The Final Mii Fighter Costumes For Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

The final three Mii Fighter costumes for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate are the Octoling (Wig) from Splatoon Mii Gunner costume, a Judd from Splatoon Mii Brawler costume, and a Doom Slayer from DOOM Mii Gunner costume. Each costume will cost $0.75 and will be released on October 18, the same day as Sora arrives in the game. The costumes are not included as part of either of the Fighters Passes that have been released for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and will need to be purchased on their own.

The Doom Slayer was rumored for Super Smash Bros. for a long time, with many leakers claiming that he was a shoo-in for the game. It makes more sense to include the Doom Slayer as a Mii Gunner. He’s certainly worthy of appearing from a historical standpoint, considering Doom helped to create the FPS genre, but might have been difficult to implement. A character who does nothing but fire guns might not make for the most nuanced Super Smash Bros. Ultimate character, but at least the Mii Gunner can bring the Doom Slayer into the game – in some form – at last.
