Solar Ash How to Farm Plasma (& What Its Used For)

To increase Rei’s survivability against the lesser and Massive Anomalies of Solar Ash, players will need to collect Plasma. This gelatinous, globular substance functions as the currency for upgrading Rei’s Void-Shield. From the start, players will begin with only two hit points, but by gathering Plasma found in each area, the Voidrunner will be able to increase her max HP. It is recommended for Solar Ash players to unlock the Aegis Wellspring, Erving’s unique suit, which doubles the amount of all accumulated Plasma.

To spend Plasma, Rei can visit Cyd, the friendly AI which appears at fast-travel checkpoints in each zone. While the cost to raise the max shield count may seem like a lot, Solar Ash players will be able to collect more than enough through their playthrough. Additionally, with the Aegis Wellspring Suit equipped, Plasma gathered from all sources will be increased by 2, making the player’s effort even more profitable.

Plasma primarily appears as pinkish, red blobs floating throughout the environment. While Rei shouldn’t have to go out of her way to pick them up, they are a good source of passive income while free-skating down paths toward objectives. Hostile Anomalies in Solar Ash are also a common source of Plasma. Killing one enemy will net about 15x Plasma on average, and defeating larger ones will reap even more.

Ways to Farm Plasma in Solar Ash

The best way to farm Plasma in Solar Ash is by exploring the Ultravoid for boxes, crates, and crystals that spawn within each region. Boxes and crates will vary in appearance depending on the current area and usually net players a few Plasma. On the other hand, Plasma crystal deposits are the most rewarding nodes to find and will provide 150x Plasma upon being destroyed. However, unlike enemy mobs or crates, deposits do not respawn, making them valuable discoveries. For repetitious Plasma farming in Solar Ash, warp between locations and slay enemies grouped close together in a small vicinity for maximum efficiency.

Once players have reached a desired amount of Plasma, they can return to Cyd at any time to increase their max HP. Repairing Rei’s shield points will be a common occurrence as Echo will remove one point during the cutscene following a boss fight. Players should be prepared to pay a higher cost in Plasma as the game progresses, as every new shield will gradually increase. Additionally, Players should note that they won’t be able to upgrade their Void-Shield until they’ve cleared the Crater, the first level in the Solar Ash.
