After a near-perfect season five, USA Network Original, Suits, had a tough task on its hands. The fans were expecting something brilliant from season six, and, while the writers of the show didn’t disappoint in the slightest, it can be argued that the “Michael Ross going to prison” arc could have been done better.
Nevertheless, the sixth season of the critically acclaimed series saw Mike deal with the problems inside a prison cell, while, on the outside, Harvey Specter is without his wingman, which means that he cannot totally concentrate on the tasks in front him, as his mind continuously wanders off to Mike. 10 “She’s Gone” (8.4)
In the eleventh episode of season six, with Jessica Pearson now out of the firm, Harvey and Louis, must decide who will be Pearson Specter Litt’s new Managing Partner. Mike declines the job offer from Harvey and steps out to seek employment. Soon, he understands how difficult it is to get a job as an ex-convict. Elsewhere, Rachel is offered a job by her father at Rand, Kaldor, and Zane.
9 “Admission Of Guilt” (8.4)
In the fourteenth episode of season six, Mike and the clinic he works for are up against Velocity Data Solutions. However, when Mike realizes they don’t have the resources to sustain the lawsuit, he appoints Pearson Specter Litt as a co-counsel. Oliver isn’t having any of it, as he thinks he shouldn’t help his previous employers. Moreover, Rachel, officially, becomes a lawyer, while Katrina Bennett returns to Pearson Specter Litt as a Junior Partner.

In the penultimate episode of season six, much of the action is focused upon building up the finale. James Palmer finds out that Harvey and Mike are working with Seidel, so he manages to convince six clients of Pearson Specter Litt to drop the firm. This makes Louis wonder whether all of this is worth it, as he doesn’t think they should risk their firm just to get Mike to become a lawyer.
7 “Back On The Map” (8.5)
In the third episode of season six, Mike needs to stay out of trouble inside the prison, and, thanks to Harvey, Mike informs Frank Gallo that he’ll be eligible for parole soon. At Pearson Specter Litt, Jessica wants Harvey to take William Sutter, a shady businessman, as a client. Although the latter doesn’t want that, he has to sacrifice himself for the betterment of the firm. Also, Mike has a tough decision to make.
6 “Teeth, Nose, Teeth” (8.5)
In the thirteenth episode of season six, Craig Seidel postpones Rachel’s Character and Fitness test at the New York State Bar in order to blackmail Harvey to do something for him.
But, Harvey has another idea. If he does this job for Seidel, Harvey wants him to use his influence on the New York State Bar to have them accept Mike. Meanwhile, Mike learns he has to give Oliver a lot of learning, as he fails in court.
5 “Borrowed Time” (8.7)
In the eighth episode of the sixth season, Louis does something one doesn’t expect from him and finds himself in trouble. He begins an intimate relationship with a girl named Tara, but she has a husband, and he’s returning to New York. Elsewhere, Harvey has to deal with Sutter again, and, despite him wanting a particular course of action, Sutter seems to be neglecting his opinion. Also, Mike delivers a witness.
4 “The Painting” (8.8)
In the twelfth episode of season six, Harvey leaves the firm for some family time. Throughout the series, the viewers have gotten to know the fact that Harvey, for some reason, hates his mother, and this episode sheds a light on why he hates her.
In his absence, Louis, Donna, and Rachel have to manage the firm while Mike continues to seek a job and finds one as a legal consultant at the Eastside Legal Clinic.
3 “The Hand That Feeds You” (9.2)
In the ninth episode of the show’s sixth season, Mike pulls a couple of strings but finds himself in deep trouble inside the prison. While Harvey wants Gallo back on the streets, Cameron Dennis doesn’t, and the latter ensures that it doesn’t happen, much to the frustration of Harvey. Nevertheless, that is what Mike wanted, as he wants to free Kevin, but little does he know how dangerous Gallo is. Still, Mike manages himself and gets out of prison, finally.
2 “P.S.L” (9.6)
In the tenth episode of season six, celebrations begin as Mike is out of prison, which means Pearson Specter Litt can work towards rebuilding the firm’s reputation, but, before they can do that, their firm’s oldest client is looking to leave them and Jessica must stop it. Mike, in need of a job, is offered the position of a legal consultant at Pearson Specter Litt and while he refuses the job at first, he says he’ll consider the offer.

The season six finale of the USA Network Original is an emotional ride. Mike is granted his Character and Fitness hearing, but Anita Gibbs, the one who made sure Mike went to jail, is going to be on the committee, and she will make sure Mike never gets instilled into the New York State Bar. Mike realizes she wants Harvey, so she’ll do anything for Harvey to admit that he was involved in the fraud. Up steps Jessica to the rescue.
