Supernatural’s Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) is pop culture savvy, crazy about his car, popular with the ladies and a skilled hunter of the supernatural. He’s been through plenty, from his stint in Hell to another stint in Purgatory. Saving the world, keeping an eye on his younger brother Sam (Jared Padalecki) and hanging out with Castiel (Misha Collins) are part of his daily routine.

He’s tough and sometimes cold, but he’s also fiercely loyal and always puts family first. He’s also good with words, which is why we’ve put together a list of 10 of Dean’s most memorable (and hilarious) quotes.

10 “That’s fake me. This must be fake mine.”

“The French Mistake” is one of the most memorable episodes to come out of SPN, in which the boys find themselves in an alternate universe where they are actors and their life is a TV show.

It’s truly hilarious how appalled and horrified Dean is by Jensen Ackles, his alter-ego (most notably that he was ever in a soap opera). The fact that the show made fun of its actors in real life was noteworthy, because how many shows take the initiative? Well, Dean certainly didn’t mind his trailer or the money that came with the acting gig in his alternate life, even if it was acquired by “fake” him.

9 “Ruh-Roh.”

Supernatural embedded Scooby-Doo references in earlier seasons prior to the animated crossover. One such episode featured Dean muttering “ruh-roh” after discovering a spell to allow him to speak to a dog (a witness in their case) worked a little too well.

The episode itself was hilarious just to see Dean exhibit the typical and somewhat cliché characteristics of dogs (barking at the mailman, playing fetch…). Fortunately, Dean’s not permanently stuck in this situation since the spell eventually wears off, but for a while there, it was definitely a “ruh-roh” moment.

8 “I think you pissed off my sandwich.”

In Season 7, a restaurant chain starts serving up some sandwiches that make its consumers act as though they’re stoned. They’re so out of it that not much affects them. Dean, a big fan of the sandwich, begins to act differently until Sam takes the sandwich away.

Dean protests–until he sees the grey gunk leaking from it, which both disgusts him and shocks him. Yeah, the sandwich is pissed off alright. Dean may never look at another sandwich the same way again.

7 “I’m Batman.”

Dean’s got his own version of a Batmobile and a sidekick in Sam, but let’s face it: he’s not really Batman. Admittedly, in “Bad Day at Black Rock”, Dean comes across a brief streak of good luck. He manages to toss a pen right into the muzzle of a gun and knock out someone without laying a hand on them.

Dean’s got no problem when it comes to self-esteem or confidence; he’s already got a tendency to be cocky. His “Batman” moment in the episode is simply just another aspect of an ego boost for himself. But he did look cool while doing it.

6 “Be like Elsa. Let it go.”

Dean is pop culture savvy. It seems every other thing he says includes a reference of some sort. In “Scoobynatural”, Dean’s telling Sam to knock it off with excessive research with a simple “let it go” and throwing in a reference to Frozen. Either Dean’s been keeping up with trending topics on the web or he’s seen the movie.

Considering that Sam is the tech-savvy one, it’s most likely the latter. In any case, there’s something amusing about the image of Dean with some popcorn singing along to Frozen’s theme song.

5 “Pudding!”

There are plenty of memes and gifs out there featuring Dean shouting “Pudding!” This moment derives from an episode in which Dean and Sam are hunting down a wraith inside a mental institution. When they are caught in the morgue, Dean’s response is to pull down his pants, wiggle around and exclaim, “Pudding!”

Dean’s not one to shy away from getting the job done, and apparently, “crazy works.” However, with Dean being Dean, there’s probably not much he couldn’t get away with.

4 “That was scary!”

In a Season 4 episode, Dean is infected with a ghost illness and gradually becomes more scared over the course of the episode. This episode produced one of his most memorable moments in which he screams at high volumes upon seeing a cat and then calms himself down with a smile and a “that was scary!”

It’s amusing for us to see the usually fearless and hard-edged hunter in a more vulnerable position with a childlike wariness about him. Next time we’re scared by a cat, we’ll definitely utilize Dean’s line.

3 “Demons I get. People are crazy.”

Dean’s seen it all. In “The Benders”, people turn out to be the monster-of-the-week. Dean has a point; demons do have an agenda whereas people are simply more unpredictable when it comes to what they want and what they’re willing to do to get it.

In the case of this episode, these people are having a fantasy like that of The Most Dangerous Game and have gone cannibal with their thrills coming from hunting other people. Sam is nearly one of their victims until Dean and a local sheriff save the day. So yeah, we’re with Dean on this one.

2 “Driver picks the music. Shotgun shuts his cakehole.”

Dean is possessive of “Baby”, his 1967 Chevrolet Impala. It’s a rare moment to not find Dean behind the wheel and he’s got specific rules when it comes to his treasured vehicle. That includes his initiative to reserve the right to have complete control over the radio and everything else thereof.

Sam has to sit through hours and hours of Dean’s classic rock music (something Dean even admits can be annoying, considering he listens to many of the same albums repeatedly) due to this car rule. This line has also become immortalized and integrated within pop culture, making it one of Dean’s best-known lines.

1 “I think I’m adorable.”

Not much fazes Dean. It comes with the territory of being a hunter and being exposed to gore and horrors that would terrify even Freddy Krueger. So we find it especially amusing when being arrested doesn’t even remotely faze Dean like it would most of us. Instead, he’s cocky, confident and self-assured. Considering it would take all that and more to successfully escape prison (which he does), it’s a good thing Dean’s equipped with all the necessities. He really is adorable, and the phrase has also become a popular SPN pop culture reference.

Dean has said and done many things over the years, but these are some of his most memorable quotes. Dean is our hero and a role model in the way he gets back up every time he’s been knocked down (and he’s been knocked down a lot). Like Sam, Dean will live on for many years to come regardless of the fact that Supernatural will soon be coming to an end. The Winchesters are immortal, after all (just go back and see how many times they’ve come back to life).
