Survivor seasons 20 and 28 are finally available for streaming on Netflix, and new and old fans alike are surely wondering one thing – what happened to blonde-haired, blue-eyed Spencer Bledsoe? Since last appearing on the series five years ago, the 28-year-old has made quite an impressive life for himself. As he travels South America with his girlfriend Kailey Mary Catherine, he hosts a podcast that helps listeners improve their mental health.

Bledsoe first competed on Survivor season 28, also known as Survivor: Cagayan – Brawn vs. Brains vs. Beauty, which aired in 2013. Three tribes were pitted against each other, each boasting a trait – strength, intelligence, or good looks – that could help them advance in the game. Deemed a “Brain,” the 21-year-old economics student smartly helped his underdog tribemates attempt to outwit, outlast and outplay the other teams. Two years later, Bledsoe returned for Survivor season 31, which featured favorite players competing in Cambodia for the title of “Sole Survivor.”

So, what is the Survivor alum up to these days? For starters, he now goes by his middle name Reiman (pronounced like “Simon” with an R). On a weekly basis, Reiman hosts the podcast Redeeming Disorder, which shares real-life stories of mental health disorders and how various guests overcame their struggles. In an Instagram post, Bledsoe said, “I’ve conducted these interviews across 16 states between 2018-2020, talking in-person with individuals who were brave enough to share their stories.” The podcast is available on Linktree, iTunes, and other listening apps, with new episodes airing every Thursday. Bledsoe is also working on a book entitled Disorder, which will feature those same stories. In October, Bledsoe announced his hiatus from social media “for a long time” as he begins a new journey in Ecuador with his girlfriend.

Fans are also invited to join Bledsoe’s “Zoom Sangha,” a community for those interested in practicing meditation. He used to host sessions every Sunday morning and afternoon, but these were paused in August for the time being. After competing on Survivor, a show that puts players’ minds and bodies to the ultimate test, it’s almost impossible to leave the island unchanged.

Whether someone gains confidence in their ability to succeed at something new or has a deeper love for their family after being separated for a month, most contestants return home a better person. As Bledsoe works to eradicate mental health stigma while embracing new cultures, he’s a prime example of this positive change.
