Teen Wolf: 10 Worst Things Stiles Stilinski Has Ever Done

Stiles Stilinski is the most loyal friend Scott could have asked for. However, there are plenty of moments where he makes the wrong decision.

Stiles Stilinksi is the loyal best friend of Scott McCall and what he lacks in fighting skills he makes up for in intelligence. He and Lydia are often the brains behind the operations, figuring out who the villain of the season is together. Stiles and Scott are brothers in all but blood, they’re there for each other and supporting each other through everything.

Most of the time, Stiles’ actions help the pack succeed in their mission. However, Stiles is human, and therefore, he does not always make the right decision. In some cases, even Stiles’ worst choices had a good intention behind it.

10 BETRAYING SCOTT’S PLAN

When the Argents capture Derek, Scott determines that he and Stiles must find Derek before Peter does. Peter is also doubling as a threat to Allison in his revenge plot to take Derek back and get vengeance for Kate Argent’s attack of his home and the murder of his family. Scott looks after Allison at the school formal to keep her safe while Peter skulks about the school. Scott’s desire to reach Derek before Peter is thwarted when Peter attacks Lydia.

With Lydia lying on the lacrosse field covered and blood, Peter gives Stiles a choice: Tell him where Derek is, or Lydia dies. Stiles tries to convince Peter he does not know where Derek is, but to no avail, Peter knows he is lying. However, Lydia is the more critical variable to Stiles, and he chooses her life, and in doing so, helps Peter find Derek.

9 BROUGHT SCOTT TO SEE A DEAD BODY

Ironically, one of Stiles’ worst decisions is what allows the series to exist in the first place. After hearing about a dead body in the woods, Stiles insists that he and Scott check it out. They decide to go, not knowing that this choice would cause Scott’s life to change forever.

After Stiles is dragged away by his father, Scott is attacked and bitten. However, this one all worked out for the best as Scott embraced his werewolf side and eventually became a True Alpha to start his pack.

8 BROKE UP WITH MALIA

In the aftermath of killing Donovan, Stiles is frantic in behavior, nervous, and guilty over his actions. Even though he understands it was self-defense, he cannot shed the guilt of taking a life, especially knowing how Scott feels about killing.

While it matters very much to Stiles, it does not have the same effect on Malia. She is more observant than he realizes, and she puts it together after seeing the scars on Stiles’ shoulder. Instead of being thankful that he has such an understanding girlfriend, Stiles is upset that his actions toward Donovan did not mean anything to her, leading to their breakup.

7 CHECKED HIMSELF INTO EICHEN HOUSE

In the aftermath of Coach getting an arrow to the chest and a bomb destroying the Sherriff’s station, Stiles voluntarily checks himself into Eichen House. He is determined not to hurt anyone else and tells Scott that if it comes down to it, to make sure that Stiles never gets out.

Stiles only lasts a few minutes before watching a patient commit suicide and seeing the Nogitsune standing around the asylum. By staying isolated, he may be preventing harm to his friends, but this decision only causes problems for himself. When the Nogitsune indeed attacks, Stiles is not with friends who can help him.

6 ACCUSED LYDIA OF INVOLVEMENT WITH VICTIMS

During “Motel California” Stiles can not help but feel that the actions in previous episodes of the season and the werewolves being possessed to harm themselves is too familiar. He compares it to when Lydia was possessed by Peter Hale in season two and had no idea what she was doing.

Stiles makes the mistake of telling Lydia this to her face, as it sounds like Stiles is accusing Lydia of being involved with the multiple deaths and self-harm attempts. However, Stiles’ statement is ignored as he takes so long explaining himself that Lydia is already interested in the next problem they are facing.

5 LIED TO HIS FATHER ABOUT THE SUPERNATURAL

Stiles and his father are usually very close, especially after the death of Stiles’ mother, Claudia. After Scott was bitten, Stiles’ behavior changed too, often lying to his father about his whereabouts and the supernatural.

Stiles helped Scott and Allison to cover up the Kanima’s killing spree to prevent Sherriff Stilinkski from knowing anything. For the first two seasons of the series, Stiles keeps his father in the dark about everything until it eventually piles up, and he comes clean in the third season. Sherriff Stilinksi does not believe Stiles until he witnesses the supernatural for himself.

4 HAD FEELINGS FOR LYDIA DURING HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH MALIA

It is expected of people to try to move on from a longtime crush if nothing romantic has progressed. Stiles’ crush on Lydia had been with him for years while she dates other people. As he and Malia grow closer, they move into romantic territory, starting a relationship. Malia is consistently there for Stiles and engaged in their growing dynamic, but Stiles does not have the same investment.

While he does care about Malia, it is not enough to remove his feelings for Lydia to the extent that it is still noticeable while Stiles and Malia are dating. Kira even asks Scott about Stiles’ feelings for Lydia. Stiles confirms it himself right before he is taken by the Ghost Riders in “Memory Lost” when he reminds Lydia about his crush on her during Freshmen, Sophmore, and Junior years. Stiles also admits he loves Lydia.

3 KILLED DONOVAN

To be fair, it was technically self-defense on Stiles’ part. Given the idea by Theo Rankin, Donovan goes after Stiles as revenge for the actions Sherriff Stilinksi had done to Donovan’s father. Stiles tries hard to fight his opponent but is at a disadvantage, leading him to run and hide in the school library.

Donovan follows Stiles up a construction site grabbing his leg. Stiles pulls a cord with the intent of getting Donovan to let go. Unfortunately, a large metal bar falls from the top diving directly into Donovan’s chest. Stiles is too guilty to tell Scott about it, especially after Scott reinforces the idea that they should be saving the victims of the Dread Doctors, not killing them.

2 GAVE THE NOGITSUNE CONTROL

Stiles finally has some room to breathe when Deaton paralyzes the Nogitsune. However, it doesn’t last long. After checking into Eichen House, Stiles finds himself fighting to keep his body from possession again. To do so, he must stay awake to fight it off. Stiles manages to succeed until he and Malia are close to getting hurt by his roommate Oliver.

Stiles has a choice, either let the Nogitsune have control or watch as Malia’s head is drilled. He gives in, allowing the Nogitsune control of his body. While it is honorable that he wants to save Malia, this decision costs everyone unbearable pain. The fight to save Stiles only ends after Allison and Aiden have lost their lives.

1 NOGITSUNE’S ACTIONS

Even though he was possessed at this point, Stiles remembers everything he did while under the Nogitsune’s control. The arrow to Coach’s heart and the bomb that blew up the Sherriff’s station are just two of many tricks the Nogitsune plays on everyone that Stiles loves.

The level of pain he brought to people is something he would not forget about and spend time trying to move past. He also admits to Malia that he remembers enjoying what he had done when the Nogitsune had control because it made him feel powerful.
