In December, Terminator: Resistance’s Annihilation Line DLC will drop players in the middle of a conflict alongside hero Kyle Reese. Developer Teyon and publisher Reef Entertainment released the licensed first-person in late 2019; Terminator: Resistance received a PS5 upgrade more than a year later in March 2021 that added graphical improvements, DualSense controller support, and new content such as the Infiltrator Mode.

At the time of the PS5 upgrade’s release, Reef Entertainment announced plans to deploy a paid expansion in the summer of 2021 for PC and the new PlayStation console. Clearly, such a launch window passed without the publisher following through on said promise. It gave newcomers more time to navigate the base game’s storyline before the DLC’s arrival, though. Despite hitting store shelves mere weeks after Terminator: Dark Fate’s theatrical release, the Teyon-developed shooter actually follows in the footsteps of the franchise’s first two films – The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day. Players notably assume the role of Resistance soldier Jacob Rivers whose Terminator-branded adventure boasts multiple possible endings.

On December 10, a little over two years after its initial release, Terminator: Resistance will receive a paid expansion, Annihilation Line, on PC via Steam and PS5 platforms. Clocking in at more than four hours in length, the new content will drop players into the middle of the story campaign to once again explore the apocalyptic future from Jacob Rivers’ perspective. This time, though, Rivers fights alongside Resistance hero Kyle Reese, allowing fans to “live out Kyle’s visions of the future [as] seen in The Terminator.” Reef Entertainment’s press release additionally teases the new areas Rivers will venture across in the post-apocalyptic California setting, some of which feature in the following announcement trailer for Annihilation Line.

As of writing, the publisher has yet to reveal pricing details for Annihilation Line. The content itself seems rather robust, though, packing in a new story campaign, additional areas, extra weapons, and enemies such as T-600 and HK Centurion who haven’t previously appeared in Terminator video games.

Founded in 2006, Polish development studio Teyon is known for bring dozens upon dozens of console, handheld, PC games to market. Terminator: Resistance doesn’t count as the team’s first outing in the realm of licensed games, either. In 2014, Teyon partnered with Reef Entertainment to release Rambo: The Video Game, a critically panned rail shooter filled with scenes from the first three films. The team’s efforts in the Terminator universe have obviously been better received.
