But the reason why these two shows are also popular is because of their humor which is known to bring together everyone for good times and a good laugh.

When it comes to comedic reality TV several shows stand out, but only a few can be labeled as iconic. This is because some of the funniest reality tv shows of all time not only can make fans laugh but can also withstand the test of time with moments that can be talked about for generations.

10 The Osbournes: (2002-2005)

The Osbournes captured the lives of Ozzy Osbourne and his family on MTV and throughout its four-season run, viewers got an in-depth look at the hi-jinks that came along with the family’s unusual lives. The show was such a success that it was MTV’s most viewed series ever during its first season.

What made The Osbournes so successful is that for the first time fans saw a real family that was not perfect and showed all their flaws. Who can forget the time Sharon threw ham at the house next door because the neighbors were being too loud, but what viewers loved about The Osbournes the most was that they had no filter and swore like a sailor.

9 The Simple Life: (2003-2007)

From fashion to music the early 2000s was full of nostalgia, but one show that defined the early 2000s was The Simple Life starring Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie. The show followed the two socialites as they stepped out of the limelight of LA and struggled with doing manual low paying jobs.

What made this show so hilarious was the fact that both women allowed the world to see that they are not accustomed to what many people do in their everyday lives. For example, their first time working at Sonic Burger, where they showed up 45 minutes late and then changed the logo to “United We Stand” to something way more vulgar.

8 Double Shot At Love with DJ Pauly D And Vinny: (2019-)

This reality series followed best friends Pauly D and Vinny from The Jersey shore as they attempted to find love in a group of women. In each episode, the women competed in challenges as they fought for their love, with someone being eliminated after each episode.

The Double Shot At Love women brought the humor! One example includes Derynn Paige acting like a cat during the first episode in order to stand out from the rest of the women so she could impress both Pauly D and Vinny. The women had such an impact that some of them were brought back for a second season.

7 I love New York: (2007-2008)

I love New York was a dating show that followed Tiffany “New York” Pollard as she attempted to find her true love from a group of men who fought for her affection. Although she never found love throughout its 2 season run, New York and the entire cast gave fans hilarious moments that will always be remembered.

Before I Love New York there was The Bachelorette, but this reality series was one of the first dating shows that focused mostly on comedic relief. This show was successful because it spoofed popular elements of The Bachelorette. One of the most memorable scenes from I love New York was during the first episode when the men were waiting to meet her for the first time, but instead met Chamo. They were so caught off guard that some of them even started to walk off.

6 Flavor Of Love: (2006-2008)

Hip Hop artist Flava Flav had a show called Flavor Of Love where women competed for his affection. The series lasted 3 seasons, with each season being a new group of contestants vying for Flavor Flav’s love. This series actually kicked off a wide range of comedic dating shows that aired on VH1.

This series paved the way for many dating shows that focused more on comedy, soon after there was I love New York, Rock Of Love, and many more. The series also took elements from The Bachelor and turned them into comedic moments. The women on Flavor Of Love were the true stars that created many funny moments that are known to this day as iconic. One example is when the women were making dinner for Flavor Flav and Schatar “Hottie” Sapphira attempted to cook a raw turkey in a microwave, leaving the rest of the cast perplexed.

5 Charm School (2007-2009)

Charm School followed the women from Flavor of Love, Rock of Love, and Real Chance Of Love as they attended a school that helped them better themselves and develop “proper etiquette”. The last woman standing won one million dollars and the title of Charm School Queen.

What made this show so funny was that each season had a different celebrity host, and to see their reaction to how these women behaved was priceless. One of the funniest moments had to be when New York was a guest and does what she does best… which was to get under their skin in a passive-aggressive way.

4 Too Hot To Handle: (2020-)

Too Hot To Handle followed a group of gorgeous young adults as they live together but are forbidden to have any type of sexual contact. If they can follow the rules they walk away with a cash prize, but if the rules are broken that cash prize gets reduced.

This was the first reality show where the participants were actually encouraged to not have any type of sexual relations and that’s what made it so funny. Seeing them struggle to fight their desire and succumb to it anyway definitely brought the laughs, especially when Francesca and Harry broke the rules so many times and even lost $16,000 in one night for the rest of the cast.

3 I Love Money: (2008-2010)

I Love Money was a spin-off of the many forgotten dating shows that aired on VH1, as contestants competed in challenges in hopes to be the sole winner of $250,000. This show had a big resemblance to The Challenge because it was a competitive drama-filled show, but the only difference is it focused primarily on comedy.

The reason why fans found this reality series so funny is that cast members from some of the funniest dating shows on VH1 were all put under one roof. One of the biggest highlights was during the season 1 finale when Megan Hauserman decided to quit the game instead of getting voted off by the jury because she knew she was the reason why they didn’t make it to the final.

2 Jersey Shore: (2009-2012)

One of MTV’s finest. Jersey Shore followed 8 housemates as they lived together as cameras captured their every move. The show was such a success that a spin-off was created titled Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. This show was exactly like The Real World but with a comedic twist. This was the first time fans were introduced to what it was like staying on The Jersey Shore which was living your best life and not caring what anyone thinks.

The Jersy Shore cast was always their true authentic selves, fans appreciated seeing these young adults go through embarrassing funny moments that they go through in their everyday life. Snooki was the highlight of Jersey Shore because she had so many hilarious moments. During season 1 there was that time she could not find the beach when all along it was right next to her.

1 Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica (2003-2005)

Other than Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey were the couple everyone had their eyes on in the early 2000s. So what better way to appease fans than by showing them their day-to-day lives on a reality show? That’s exactly what Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica was about.

Jessica was very naive and never had a dull question for Nick. One of the most classic moments is when Jessica gets confused while eating a can of tuna called Chicken Of The Sea, and did not know whether she was eating chicken or fish. This instantly became an ongoing joke in pop culture, and to this day is still remembered as one of the funniest moments.
