According to Box Office Mojo, these 10 movie actors including The Rock raked in the money and became the highest-grossing actors of the 2010s.

With same short list of actors appearing in most Hollywood movies, if there’s anything that this list proves, it’s that the town should widen it’s pool of talent. Many of these actors share screen time in the same franchises and are all over huge big budget movies.

It also may not come as a surprise whatsoever that most of the following actors have a large presence in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, considering how many movies in the series were released in the 2010s. And though many of the actors might be predictable, the top spot will come as a huge surprise.

10 Andy Serkis – $9.4 Billion

Andy Serkis has had his fingers in a lot of different pies in the 2010s, as he is the connection between the MCU and Star Wars by starring as both Ulysses Klaue and Emperor Snoke respectively. Not only that, but he also led the decade’s Planet of the Apes movies in to becoming a billion dollar franchise too. And being the motion capture enthusiast to that he is, he even reprised his role as Golem in Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.

9 Jeremy Renner – $9.5 Billion

Though Hawkeye is often treated like the Aquaman of the Avengers, he has left quite a mark on the 2010s box office results. Though Renner’s box office gross isn’t the very highest, it is arguably the most impressive, as he is only in three Avengers movies and one Captain America movie. Renner has been busy starring in Mission: Impossible movies, with the two of them making almost a combined $1.4 billion, and other box office hits including Arrival, The Bourne Legacy, and The Town.

8 Mark Ruffalo – $10 Billion

Mark Ruffalo has made great use with his time when not starring in Marvel movies, as he has been bouncing around between romantic comedies, energetic heist movies, and dramatic awards darlings.

Though none of them are as high grossing as movies where he plays the Hulk, they are all moderately successful, and as he has starred in so many of them, it has helped him become one of the highest grossing actors of the decade.

7 Chris Evans – $10.5 Billion

Though Chris Evans has worked on many different passion projects over the 2010s, the vast majority of his box office gross comes from his work in the MCU. Evans has starred in a lot of great movies that have underperformed at the box office and surprisingly enough, he has only played one role in a movie that made more than $100 million outside of Captain America, which was Knives Out, making just over $300 million.

6 Dwayne Johnson – $10.6 Billion

Unsurprisingly the only actor not to have a huge presence in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Dwayne Johnson owned the 2010s. After several failures trying to kickstart an acting career, Johnson massively helped turn the Fast & Furious franchise from the street racing series to what it is today, and his leading role in the Jumanji series has earned close to $2 billion too. It also helps that the former wrestler is one of the A-list actors who do their own stunts.

5 Chris Pratt – $11.2 Billion

Chris Pratt would certainly be at the top of the list if it was regarding actors who had the best body transformations in the decade, but the actor hasn’t done too bad when it comes to box office gross either. Outside of the role of Starlord, Pratt is not only the lead voice in The LEGO Movie series, but he is the cocky velociraptor trainer in the Jurassic World movies too. Even the actor’s more dramatic movies are big money earners, as Zero Dark Thirty, which is Chris Pratt’s best movie, made over $140 million.

4 Chris Hemsworth – $11,2 Billion

He has a lot of great non-Thor performances, but before Chris Hemsworth donned the red cape and golden locks, he hadn’t had many movie roles, which meant that his role as the god of thunder opened a ton of lucrative doors for the actor.

Hemsworth not only starred in four Avengers movies and three Thor movies, but he featured in several financially successful soft reboots too, including Ghostbusters and Men In Black: International. He also starred in the fresh take on Snow White, Snow White and the Huntsman.

3 Samuel L. Jackson – $11.4 Billion

There are a lot of movies people forgot Samuel L. Jackson was in, and though the actor has led several movies outside of the MCU in the 2010s, most of them were huge box office disasters. However, Jackson has seen a lot of success too, including with Kong: Skull Island and two of the best Quentin Tarantino movies, Django Unchained and The Hateful Eight. And considering that he plays Nick Fury, the man who first assembled the Avengers, he’s had a large presence in many of the movies.

2 Robert Downey Jr. – $11.8 Billion

This decade, Robert Downey Jr. has not only appeared in the Avengers movies and in Iron Man 3 as the titular character, but also in Spider-Man: Homecoming and Captain America: Civil War, the latter of which could easily have been named Iron Man 4. Not only that, but Downey is the lead in several high grossing franchises, including Sherlock Holmes, with the second movie in the series making well over half a billion dollars.

1 Scarlett Johansson – $13 Billion

It’s almost gratifying that in a list about highest grossing actors being almost completely filled with men, a woman takes the top spot. What’s even better is that Scarlett Johansson’s success isn’t just from starring in several Marvel movies, but her films outside of the MCU have been huge hits, too, including Ghost In The Shell and Lucy, in which she plays one of the most badass characters in a Luc Besson movie.
