The Amazing Race has had hundreds of contestants ever since it premiered in the year 2001. All but one of the seasons have featured teams of two, the only exception being Season 8 which featured teams of four family members. And while most teammates tend to be family members, friends or couples, Season 29 had a rule in which teammates had to be strangers.

A number of contestants have also appeared more than once in the series. So far, 3 is the highest number achieved by any contestant. A total of 10 contestants have appeared thrice. And out of the lucky 10, only two are not part of a duo as they opted to partner with different contestants at some point. The rest have stuck with each other through wins and losses.

6 Rachel Reilly (3)

Reilly is a familiar face on TV, having appeared in Season 12, Season 13 (where she was the victor) and Season 14 of Big Brother. She then went on to appear in Season 20 and Season 21 of The Amazing Race where she teamed up with her husband Brendon Villegas. Since true love breeds teamwork, the two worked together quite well and managed to finish in 3rd place in each of their appearances. While that was enough for Villegas, Reilly was enjoying herself and wanted to give it another go.

She returned in Season 31, this time teaming up with her sister Elissa Slater. The coordination between siblings proved to be not as strong the one between lovers. Reilly and Slater finished in 7th place. That was now enough. Reality TV isn’t the only thing Reilly does. She is an actress too, with credits in B-movies such as The Consultant and Humble Pie. At the moment, she stars in the long-running soap opera The Bold And The Beautiful.

5 Leo Temory And Jamal Zadran (3)

The phenomenal Afghan duo competed in Season 23, Season 31, and Season 24 of The Amazing Race. With their third appearance, the two became the first duo to make it to the final 4, three different times. They are also the team with the most legs, having run a total of 34 in their career.

Away from the show, Leo is a restaurateur. Before appearing on The Amazing Race, he was an experienced traveler and hike, having climbed Mt. Whitney and other high cliffs. He is also involved with Diabetes awareness. Jamal on the other hand is an entrepreneur and owner of Zadran Investment Group (Z.I.G.), a firm that specializes in the purchase of vehicles and manages equity portfolios.

4 Herbert Lang And Nathaniel Lofton (3)

The entertaining duo of Lang and Lofton competed in Season 15, Season 18, and Season 24 of The Amazing Race. On their first try, they finished 4th. They appeared to have greater zeal on their second try, coming close to winning but finishing in second place. The time saw them drop to 6th place which wasn’t all that bad given that the 24th season was the All Stars version.

Professionally, Lang is a basketball player who plays for the Harlem Globetrotters. The team mostly plays exhibition matches in several territories around the world. Lofton also plays in the same team.

3 Jet McCoy And Cord McCoy (3)

Jet And Cord are always remembered as the cowboy brothers who had a very bad relationship with planes. That’s because flights cost them dearly in each of their three appearances. Their decision to sleep on a plane cost them a win that appeared guaranteed in Season 16 when the sibling duo of Dan and Jordan got out of the plane before them. They thus had to settle for second place. In Season 18, they also struggled to connect flights, leading to a 5th place finish. And in Season 24, they failed to locate an airport in time for a flight to Spain. This time they also finished 5th.

While not much is known about Jett, Cord is the rodeo guy. And he is quite good at that too. He is a member of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) and the Professional Bull Riders (PBR). He has won 6 different riding competitions. He is ranked 15th in the world by the IPRA.

2 Mallory Ervin (3)

Mallory first competed with her father Gary in Season 17. Despite a series of impressive showings they finished in second place. They then returned in Season 18 where they showed significant improvement, finishing in 3rd place. Mallory would be called again in Season 24 as Mark Jackson’s partner after his teammate William “Bopper” Minton was deemed unfit to continue participating in the race due to complications from pancreatitis. The duo finished in 10th place.

At the moment, Mallory is a YouTube personality. She specializes in family and lifestyle vlogging. She is also a former model, having won the Miss Kentucky title back in 2009.

1 Margaret “Margie” O’Donnell And Luke Adams (3)

The mother-son duo of Margie and Luke appeared in Season 14, Season 18, and Season 24. During their first appearance, they were written off by other teams but surprised everyone with their physicals dominance as the race progressed. They thus attracted a lot of enemies along the way but were able to finish in 3rd place. Luke was mostly to blame as he had struggled with the Roadblock. When they returned the second time, Luke took too long at a Roadblock again, leading to an 8th place finish for the team.

Learned his lesson? Hardly. Luke was at fault again in Season 24 where he broke down, causing the team to be passed by everyone. As they struggled to catch up, they missed a flight to Sri Lanka and by the time they found the other teams, it was too late, They finished in 8th place once again. In the outside world, Margie is a Clinical Research Associate while her son Luke is a motivational speaker. Perhaps Margie should return with a friend next time.
