All’s well did end well for last night’s iconic The Bachelor GOAT’, which featured Season 13’s Melissa Rycroft and Jason Mesnick, from 11 years ago. Mesnick is still with his initial second choice, Molly. They have been married for the last 10 years and share a daughter named Riley. Jason’s son Ty is now 15. Despite being “Mesnick’d,” Melissa Rycroft ended up with her ‘happily ever after’. She is now with her sweetheart, Tye, whom she dated before going on The Bachelor.

On the newest Bachelor GOAT, Melissa shared her reaction to the gut wrenching moment fans saw twice now. “The one person I should have been able to trust in all of this is the one person that had deceived me.” The angrier you are after a break up, the easier it is to move on”. Moving on is exactly what she did.

The GOAT update aired on ABC TV. During the episode, Melissa let host Chris Harrison (and everyone watching) in on a little secret. As it turns out, Jason had indeed reached out to Molly, when he said he hadn’t on After The Final Rose. It was a little bird (aka Bachelor contestant Jillian) who let the cat out of the bag. Melissa revealed: “Here’s some behind the scenes. I actually heard from Jillian, that Molly had mentioned she had talked to Jason, so I just brought it up to him casually and he said yes actually, I was given her number, on the last day of filming so that I could call and check on her and make sure she was ok with everything.” Melissa went on to say, “I never thought it was anything beyond him checking on her.”

A whirlwind experience I NEVER thought I’d have to relive, and here we are! It’s not all bad though. It was an honor to be chosen as the Bachelor. I met some of the greatest people, both in front of the camera and behind it. Travelled the world, went on insane dates/experiences, and ultimately met my wife – which was the whole point! Yes, there was that mess up in the middle. Was it sh*tty of me – yes. Do I wish I never hurt Melissa – heck yes, but as much as I regret some of my actions, I think they ultimately were the catalyst for Melissa, Molly & myself to end up exactly where we each want to be. A big shoutout to all 25 women who joined this journey with me 12 years ago – it wouldn’t have been the same without each and every one of you. 🌹❤️ #TheBachelor

This too did pass for Melissa, as she told Chris about her experience on The Bachelor, which led her back to her previous boyfriend and may have made her appreciate him more. She’s with Tye after being dumped on national television. They now live in Dallas and have 3 children, aged 9, 6 and 4. The family looked very happy during their update for viewers, many of whom pay close attention to Bachelor Nation. “Things are great. I can honestly say it would not have happened for me personally had it not been for The Bachelor. My husband now is an old relationship. How it ended changed me as a person. Therefore, when Tye and I were able to give our relationship another shot, I was different. If I had not gone through that, I completely confidently say that Tye and I would not be together today.”

The Jason and Molly of today were also featured last night on The Bachelor GOAT. The two revealed a couple of interesting facts. When Jason initially chose Melissa, Molly was invited to be the next Bachelorette. In fact, when she came on ATFR, she was assuming she would be there for her Bachelorette intro. Instead, she was pleasantly surprised to hear that Jason had a change of heart and chose her.

For those who kicked and screamed at their TVs for the second time last night, after reliving the fiasco, and wondering how Jason could have treated Melissa this way..well, karma’s a you-know-what. Jason said: “that was chicken of me”. He meant it was cowardly to not have ‘fessed up to the truth about Molly. He shared that the next morning, after dumping Melissa on TV, he fell into the pool and hurt himself really badly. He had to be taken away by ambulance. Mesnick still has the scar to show for it. On The Bachelor, as in life, time heals all wounds and everyone does indeed end up ok eventually. Cast members just have to hang in there. Sometimes, it takes days. Sometimes, it’s years. For those lucky few, their journey gets to be relived for all to see on The Bachelor GOAT.
