ABC’s The Bachelorette is a very popular show that fans from all over the world get to enjoy. It probably wouldn’t be so popular if it weren’t for its most entertaining (and even some of its most annoying) villains.
Each season of The Bachelorette has at least one villain. Each villain has viewers coming back for more every week. Whether fans like to admit it or not, everyone loves a good villain. Some villains are an entertaining guilty pleasure to watch, while others are so annoying that viewers cannot wait to watch them get sent home.
10 Annoying: Bentley Williams
Bentley Williams was a contestant on Ashley Hebert’s season. She had openly fallen head-over-heels for him, and he had privately expressed to cameras that he didn’t even find her attractive. He spoke about her, making derogatory comments behind her back about how he would like to have physical relations with her but that he didn’t care about her. Just before leaving the show he infamously said to the cameras, “I’m going to make Ashley cry. How’s my hair?” It was crazy to imagine Bentley, who had his own daughter back at home, could say such awful things on national television without remorse.
9 Entertaining: Jordan Kimball
Jordan Kimball was a contestant on Becca Kufrin’s season. He also returned for the fifth season of The Bachelor In Paradise. He was a former business accounting major before becoming a male model.
Jordan was controversial in the house with fellow contestants because he liked to get attention from Becca by walking around in his “golden underwear,” talking about his modeling career, and didn’t always get along with other guys. He became a fan favorite on his Paradise season though. Fans were rooting for Jordan, who met and fell in love with Jenna on the show. Whenever there was drama in the house, Jordan could always be counted on for hilarious commentary during his interviews that fans loved to watch.
8 Annoying: Luke Parker
Luke Parker was a contestant on Hannah Brown’s season. When the two first met, the chemistry was palpable even for the audience watching at home. Hannah even stated on the show that meeting Luke was the closest thing she had ever experienced to love at first sight. This probably explains why she kept him around for so long, even after he tackled fellow contestants and threatened other contestants on several occasions. He was also very manipulative. Just before his Fantasy Suite date, he told Hannah that he would not be with her if she had any physical relations with any of the other contestants. Thankfully, she kicked him out for slut-shaming her. When he refused to leave, he almost needed to be escorted out by security.
7 Entertaining: Kalon McMahon
Kalon McMahon was a contestant on Emily Maynard’s season. Emily famously had a daughter with her late fiance, leaving her a single mom by the time she came on the show to find love again. One of the guys revealed to Emily that Kalon had referred to Ricky, her daughter, as “baggage.” Emily confronted him in front of the other contestants. When he couldn’t deny it, she told him to “get the f*** out.” Kalon came back to try dating Michelle Money, another single mom, on Bachelor In Paradise. When Michelle rejected him because of what he did to Emily, he instead took himself on a date. It was probably the most entertaining and romantic date of that whole season. Therefore, Kalon was added to the entertaining Bachelor villain hall of fame.
6 Annoying: JJ Lane
John “JJ” Lane III was a contestant on Kaitlyn Bristowe’s season. He is most known for being the other half of the “Bromance” with fellow contestant Clint Arlis.
JJ and Clint did not get along with other contestants and chose to spend most of their time together instead. Clint once said that they had a stronger connection with each other than Clint felt he had with Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn sent JJ home after one of their dates in Ireland. He opened up about cheating on his wife only three years prior.
5 Entertaining: Bennett Jordan
Bennett Jordan was a contestant on the Clare Crawley/Tayshia Adams season of The Bachelorette. From the beginning, he was always pretty entertaining to watch. He is a Harvard graduate and likes to make it known. His personal interviews were always filled with hilarious quips and commentary regarding the other contestants and whatever drama was going on. The way he used his unique vocabulary added more to his jokes and made him stand out. The reason he became known as a “villain” though, was because he started to come off as manipulative and condescending. He gave one of the other contestants a book on emotional intelligence, frequently talked down to contestants and Tayshia, and even returned for another chance after he was sent home.
4 Annoying: Juan Pablo Galavis
Juan Pablo Galavis was a contestant on Desiree Hartsock’s season. He did not have much camera time at first, but fans fell in love with him anyway. So he was chosen to become the next Bachelor, and this is when he forever cemented his villain status.
He allegedly told his runner-up Clare Crawley something horribly offensive in her ear just before sending her home the next day. He also refused to propose to, or even express his love for, the woman he chose. Even several months after the show aired, Juan Pablo refused to tell his girlfriend from the show, Nikki, that he loved her. She said it to him multiple times and he never reciprocated.
3 Entertaining: Nick Viall
Nick Viall was runner-up on Andi Dorfman’s season, and then he was runner-up again when he came to find love on Kaitlyn Bristowe’s season of The Bachelorette. Even though Nick has made some mistakes on the show that made him technically a “villain,” he still has a lot of redeeming qualities that fans still love. He is very entertaining to watch, as he can be very sweet and funny. Fans really started to root for him, even if he was not perfect. That is why he was eventually chosen to be The Bachelor on his own season.
2 Annoying: Cam Ayala
Cam Ayala was a contestant on Hannah Brown’s season. His catchphrase, “A-B-C, always be Cam” was cute at first and then it quickly turned annoying. He used his catchphrase to justify his actions whenever he would interrupt dates and fight with the other contestants. He allegedly admitted to one of his castmates that he was using his sob stories, one in particular regarding losing his leg in an accident before the show, in order to get a “pity rose.”
1 Entertaining: Chad Johnson
Chad Johnson was a contestant on JoJo Fletcher’s season and he is easily the most well-known Bachelorette villain. For the most part, he had a lot of good points when it came to the idea of competing for one woman, the editing and production of the show, and the flaws of other contestants. However, when it came to threatening violence, he seemed pretty dangerous and therefore he needed to be sent home. He tried turning a new leaf on the next season of The Bachelor In Paradise, but he pooped his pants and threatened more people so he had to be sent home again. Some people just never change.
