The Boys Cast Character & Power Guide

Here are the main cast and characters from Amazon Prime Video’s The Boys. Based on the comic books by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, The Boys depicts a world where superheroes have become relatively commonplace, each one a national celebrity with sponsorship deals, movie tie-ins and merchandise. This joining of crime-fighting and capitalism has created an environment where superheroes are above the law and can get away with virtually anything thanks to their cult status.

That’s where The Boys come in. A group of humans who have an on-off relationship with the authorities, The Boys ensure that the “supes” of the United States are kept in line, and take a very grim view of those who abuse their positions. Boasting an international cast of big name talent from both movies and television, The Boys is set to adapt Ennis and Robertson’s darkly comic and deeply cynical world into live action for the first time and the trailer for The Boys season 1 was very well received.

Karl Urban as William “Billy” Butcher – The undisputed leader of The Boys, Billy hails from London, England and has a deeply personal grudge against everyone with a superpower. He brings the team together with his own unique abrasive charm and Oliver Twist via New Zealand accent.

Jack Quaid as Hughie Campbell – “Wee Hughie” is recruited by Billy at the beginning of the story after an experience that transforms him from superhero mega-fan to every bit as angry and cynical as Billy himself. Hughie’s life turns from mind-numbing normality to adrenaline-pumping danger in the blink of an eye, but his intelligence makes for a valuable addition to the team.

Laz Alonso as Mother’s Milk – Widely referred to as “MM,” Alonso’s character is arguably the most normal member of Butcher’s cohorts and desperately tried to live a normal life as a youth worker after becoming disillusioned with superhero hunting. It doesn’t take much for Billy to tempt him back into the game.

Tomer Kapon as Frenchie – As his nickname implies, Kapon’s character came to the U.S. from France and was brought in as a key member of Billy’s Boys. The most emotional member of the gang, Frenchie’s skill set rests mainly in engineering, chemistry and connections to the underworld.

Karen Fukuhara as The Female – In the comic books, The Female is The Boys’ secret weapon; a silent but deadly killing machine more formidable than any other member of the group. Although clearly not comfortable with personal relationships, The Female shares a special connection with Frenchie.

The Seven

Chase Crawford as The Deep – The Boys’ answer to Aquaman, The Deep is an Instagram-friendly superhero capable of communicating with fish, manipulating water and feels at home under the sea.

Jessie Usher as A-Train – As fast as the Flash, A-Train’s super speed makes him the quickest man in the world but this hero feels the pressure of being a member of The Seven and takes extreme measures to keep his place.

Erin Moriarty as Starlight – As a new recruit to The Seven, Starlight, real name Annie January, is a bright-eyed young hero with a genuine desire to help people and do good with her power to manipulate light energy. She receives a very quick reality check after moving to big leagues and has a certain level of invulnerability.

Alex Hassell as Translucent – A superhero with special carbon skin that is both impenetrable and can effectively render Translucent invisible. These powers have led to some issues with respecting personal boundaries.

Nathan Mitchell as Black Noir – The most reclusive and mysterious member of The Seven whose exact powers aren’t clear. Keeps himself to himself.

Other Characters In The Boys

Elisabeth Shue as Madelyn Stillwell – Stillwell is the corporate force behind The Seven, and an executive at Vought, the corporation that controls many of the prime superheroes in the U.S.

Simon Pegg as Mr. Campbell – Hugh’s father. Pegg’s casting is nod the comic books, where the actor was used as visual inspiration for Hughie.
