The Challenge Why Double Agents May Be The Most Entertaining Season

The Challenge: Double Agents has brought many twists and turns to the game to the surprise of the cast and longtime fans. This season, the viewers have watched top contenders get sent home or thrown into elimination in unexpected moves made by the show’s host T.J. Lavin. It’s for this reason that many viewers are praising Double Agents for being one of the most entertaining and one of the funniest seasons in a long time.

This year, The Challenge is a lot different than any of the previous seasons. For one, this was the first season ever filmed during the COVID-19 pandemic, which limited the outside activity the cast and crew could partake in. The usual nightclub scenes have all been shot inside of a makeshift lounge area where only the competitors can attend. Additionally, the status as a Double Agent or Rogue Agent has caused a lot of in-house drama and shocking eliminations that not even the most seasoned veterans could control. Alliances became a thing of the past as the game forced enemies to become partners and work together in hopes of making it to the final.

Because of the newness brought in by Double Agents, one viewer took to Reddit to ask “Does anyone else think Double Agents is the funniest challenge in a long time?” It turns out, the lack of outside interference has made for some pretty hilarious TV moments that the fans are loving. “Definitely the funniest in a LONG time. I’m still laughing at how they edited Josh’s Gold Skull elimination,” one person replied. “I’m still laughing at the shoe to Wes’ face,” added another in reference to the comical moment when CT Tamburello accidentally threw a sneaker in Wes Bergmann’s face. “It’s definitely funnier than the last 2 seasons,” another Redditor claimed.

However, there are also some fans who felt like The Challenge: Double Agents is lacking a wow factor due to the location where this quarantined season was filmed. “Who knew that putting them in sh*tty living conditions would suck all the humor out of them,” quipped one Redditor. “Right, just completed sucked it out of them,” someone said in agreeance. The current season does bring back memories of the good old days when The Challenge brought players to bright and sunny remote islands where they would comfortably compete outdoors and get flirty with each other in the house and pool.

“I have laughed more on this season than I have in a long time,” one person claimed. “You mean Devin is funny and occasionally Cory,” someone said in response. There was one fan who gushed over CT and Big T’s friendship this season. “The CT / Big T storyline is precious and I want them to win everything, even though I know they won’t,” they shared. It’s clear that the cast of The Challenge is responsible for bringing back the viewers, and not so much where the players are competing.
