Fans of The Office will know that the relationship between Kelly Kapoor and Ryan Howard started almost immediately. As the customer service representative for Dunder Mifflin, she fell for the new temp, Ryan Howard, as soon as he stepped foot in the office. It wasn’t until Jim’s desk was moved next to Kelly’s where we learned just how crazy she was about Ryan. Unlike the meaningful relationships Pam and Jim, Michael and Holly, and even Dwight and Angela had, Ryan and Kelly’s was more about convenience. They were as toxic as two crazy kids who shouldn’t be together but couldn’t stop their feelings from growing.

Through makeups and breakups, Kelly and Ryan are the king and queen of bickering. Even if they’re not arguing on camera, fans of the show can guess that a fight is on the horizon off body language and eye rolls alone. 10 WHEN THEY WERE MARRIED FOR A WEEK (AND THEN DIVORCED)

In season seven, Kelly and Ryan announce to the office that they are amicably getting a divorce. It’s no one’s fault, but Ryan simply didn’t want to be married anymore. The weird thing is no one even knew these two were married to begin with.

They eventually said they were only married a week and did it on whimsy while vacationing. Although Kelly was cool while delivering the news of her divorce, she gets annoyed when people don’t understand, quickly asking for everyone to pick a side.

9 WHEN KELLY SAID SHE WAS PREGNANT JUST TO GET RYAN TO TAKE HER OUT TO DINNER

In an odd turn of events, Jim and Michael turned down the job at corporate (not like they were offered the position to begin with) and David Wallace gave the position to Ryan Howard. Considering he was a temp with zero experience, it was a weird move for Dunder Mifflin.

Ryan eventually came back to the Scranton branch to discuss the new website and Kelly was dressed to impress. After Ryan shut Kelly’s flirtations down, she dropped a bombshell: she was pregnant. But was she pregnant? That’s a hard no. She’d do anything to trap a date with Ryan!

8 HE TOOK KELLY’S IDEA FOR WUPHF

In the seventh season, Ryan tells the office that he’s creating a new platform for communicating. WUPHF is the quickest way to get in contact with someone. Whenever someone sends an email, a text, or a phone call, the person is notified on every single platform through WUPHF.

Though it seemed like a good idea at first, his plan starts falling apart after he continually asked for money and Kelly accused Ryan of stealing her idea. She gave him the idea after Ryan would ignore her messages, which means Kelly could easily harass Ryan’s new company until it was eventually hers.

7 WHEN KELLY SENT STANLEY AFTER RYAN

Kelly would do anything to make sure she was the only girl for Ryan. And over time, we even saw Ryan become jealous of Kelly’s future new boyfriend, Ravi. However, in an episode titled Take Your Daughter to Work Day, we saw the workers of Dunder Mifflin bring their kids to work for the day.

Stanley brought his teenage daughter to work but she seemed more interested in Ryan than what her dad did at the office. Kelly became increasingly annoyed that Ryan and Stanley’s daughter were “flirting,” so she told Stanley something was forming between the two. This led to Stanley freaking out on Ryan and Kelly smiling in the corner.

6 KELLY WANTED TO RUN RYAN’S WEBSITE INTO THE GROUND

When Ryan was promoted to Vice President of Sales and later Northeast Region Director of New Media, he pitched his new Dunder Mifflin website to the Scranton branch.

Being afraid of change, many workers were nervous about the site. Kelly, in particular, hated it. “If I had created a website with this many problems, I’d kill myself.” It was clear Ryan wasn’t in the mood for her banter and she didn’t give two cents about his lame idea.

5 EVERY SINGLE TIME THEY BROKE UP

How many times did these two break up? It’s hard to tell because it seemed like it happened every other day in nine seasons. Ryan pretty much wanted to end it all after fist sleeping with her. Then, when it looked like the Scranton branch was closing, Ryan told Kelly they should break up so it’s not messy.

He broke up with her again when he was promoted and later again when before he left for Thailand. The only time Kelly turned Ryan down was when she was dating Darryl and Revi (even though we know this didn’t last long).

4 WHEN RYAN SAYS HE DOESN’T WANT TO GET MARRIED

Right after Ryan and Kelly hook up for the first time, Kelly is ready for marriage and babies. And she didn’t want these things with just anyone — she wanted Ryan’s babies. She tried to find chill ways of asking about his hopes and dreams without coming off too strong, but that didn’t work out.

While sitting in the conference room, Kelly asked Ryan if he wanted to get married down the road, to which he said no. She immediately ran out of the room, upset with what she heard. Pam, always the mediator, told Ryan he was being too harsh, but in the words of Ryan, “I know what I said.”

3 NOT GIVING KELLY HIS JACKET WHEN SHE WAS COLD

Who can forget the garden party Dwight threw for Andy? We saw the members of Dunder Mifflin gather at Dwight’s farm to celebrate each other and the success of their new CEO, Robert California. The problem with the garden party was that it was pretty cold and as the sun set, Kelly told Ryan how cold she was.

Did he offer his jacket to her? On the contrary, he pulled an “I told you so” move and told her “That’s because you didn’t bring a jacket.” You can see the irritation in Kelly’s face and can just imagine what that car ride home was like.

2 WHEN THEY HOOKED-UP ON FEBRUARY 13 (TO RYAN’S DISMAY)

After Jim told Ryan that Kelly thought he was cute, Ryan said the feeling was mutual. The pair went to dinner with some of Ryan’s friends when the two kissed for the first time. As we later find out, the two also hooked up, which Kelly saw as a sign that they were dating.

Ryan, on the other hand, was upset with himself for making the move the day before Valentine’s Day. He pretty much gave Kelly ammo for the rest of their relationship. And this, ladies and gents, is when they began bickering.

1 AFTER HE MADE HER BREAK UP WITH DARRYL

Once Ryan comes back to work for Dunder Mifflin, he asks Kelly out again. To his dismay, she’s still dating Darryl. That relationship obviously meant nothing to her though because she cheated on Darryl with Ryan more than once!

Ryan finally convinces Kelly to break up with Darryl, but when he finds out Darryl didn’t care, he becomes worried. Was Kelly that crazy? He then breaks up with her even though he just made her break up with Darryl! To make matters worse, he asked Kelly for money after they broke up. Yikes.
