If there’s one thing The Office does well, it’s making viewers squirm in their seats. Between Michael’s outlandish actions and uncomfortable holiday parties, The Office has some of the most embarrassing moments in sitcom history.

With The Office now on Peacock, fans of the show are now rewatching the series over and over but there are a few moments that are far too cringe-worthy to get through without covering some eyes. As hilarious as these moments are, the idea of this happening in real life is too much to bear.

10 Michael’s Behavior At Phyllis’s Wedding

It was a unique choice for Phyllis to have Michael in her wedding to Bob Vance. As far as Michael was concerned, he wasn’t just walking her father down the aisle, he was walking the bride down the aisle. But it didn’t stop there. Michael took the spotlight off of Phyllis and Bob and prematurely introduced them as Mr. and Mrs. Bob Vance to the guests before the time came. And if that wasn’t bad enough, Michael wrote an inappropriate speech that got him kicked out of the ceremony.

9 Scott’s Tots

Scott’s Tots is one of the most cringe-worthy episodes in the series. When Michael became the Regional Manager of Dunder Mifflin, he promised an entire class of kindergarteners that he would pay for the college tuition when they graduated high school.

But when those small students became young adults, Michael was nowhere near the millionaire future he envisioned. Watching him tell an entire class that he couldn’t pay for their college tuition was unbearable.

8 Michael’s Date With Pam’s Landlord

It was a bold move for Pam to recommend Michael go on a date with her landlord, Margaret. Michael was single after a toxic relationship with Jan and wanted to date someone nice for a change. Pam thought that her landlord was too sweet for Michael but it was worth a shot.

When Michael saw Margaret, he immediately tried to backtrack and pretended that he wasn’t her date. They sat down and got to know each other but all Michael did was talk about his ex-girlfriend. He even compared Margaret to an old lady… It was one of the worst dates in the entire series.

7 Andy’s Confrontation With His Underaged Girlfriend

When Andy and Jim had a meeting at a local high school, Andy was confused when he saw his girlfriend in the hallway. She had a backpack on, was opening a locker, and talking to other students.

Jim immediately knew that Andy was in for a world of trouble because he was unaware that his ‘girlfriend’ was an underaged high school student. Andy approached her to get to the bottom of it, which ended in an inevitable breakup. The entire situation was awkward and inappropriate.

6 Toby Grabbed Pam’s Knee

It was a long night when a few of the employees of Dunder Mifflin got stuck at work. They stayed late for work and didn’t realize that security locked their cars in the parking lot. While everyone was waiting for the security guard to unlock the gate, they all joked around and caught up. Toby and Pam started joking about Michael, which prompted Toby to grab Pam’s knee and rub it softly as they laughed together.

With the knee grab being unprompted and unwarranted, Pam (and everyone watching) were caught off guard – and given that everyone knew that Toby had feelings for Pam, it made it so much worse. Toby was so embarrassed by grabbing his friend’s knee in a sensual way that he said he was moving to Costa Rica, ran out of the office, and jumped over the fence to leave. Pam looked shocked at the entire ordeal.

5 Andy’s Play Was A Disaster

In season seven’s “Andy’s Play,” Andy was in a showing of Sweeney Todd and invited the entire office to see his performance. Sadly, the play was a failure. As good as the other actors were, Andy proved that he didn’t have the attention span to stay in character. He left his phone on loud during the performance and answered it in the middle of the play… He even went off-script and pretended that the phone was a bird. If that wasn’t bad, Michael kicked his wine bottle and it slowly rolled through the aisles until it hit the end. It was one uncomfortable moment after the other.

4 The Convention

When Dunder Mifflin attended a business convention, Michael and Dwight joined the other branches on behalf of Scranton. Michael was excited to meet new people and be around fellow colleagues but he was more excited for the hotel parties he was going to throw. He and Dwight bought all the makings for popular cocktails along with a strobe light and a speaker. Seeing his desperation for friendship was as awkward as it was sad. When Jim finally made it to the “party,” he saw Michael awkwardly sitting in a dark room waiting for people to party with him. It’s one of those situations that make fans wish that Michael called it a night and went to bed like everyone else.

3 Pam And Jim’s Wedding Speech

Jim and Pam’s wedding was one of the best moments in their ongoing relationship. But like most weddings, their wedding didn’t go off without a hitch. During their welcome dinner, Jim gave a loving speech before telling everyone to raise their glass for a toast. That’s when he quipped “Except Pam for obvious reasons.” Very few people knew that Pam was pregnant and they certainly didn’t want to tell that to friends and family before they were married. To save himself, he told everyone that Pam was an alcoholic. The entire scene was increasingly awkward as Jim tried to save himself but it got worse when Michael tried to save him.

2 Yankee Swap!

In “Christmas Party,” the Scranton branch planned a Secret Santa where everyone had to buy their person a gift under $20. Everyone followed the assignment except for Michael… He went above and beyond and spent $400 on an iPod for one lucky person. But when Michael opened his gift (a homemade oven mitt made by Phyllis), he was underwhelmed. He bought Ryan a $400 gift and this was all he got? He changed up the evening by having everyone play Yankee Swap, but it resulted in too many hurt feelings.

1 Andy Tried Kissing A Client On Company Property

Andy has never been good at relationships but his attempt at love with a client that he barely knew was awful. Julia was one of Stanely’s clients but when Andy fell in love with her after seeing her, he took over Stanely’s meeting. He was incredibly unprofessional and inappropriate, making Julia very uncomfortable. It’s safe to say Andy lost her as both a lover and a client when he tried kissing her without her consent in the parking lot.
