An even bigger Predator comes to town in a new TV spot for The Predator. Shane Black is moving behind the camera for 20th Century Fox’s reboot of their alien hunting franchise after appearing in the first film. The director of Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and Iron Man 3 looks to reintroduce the property with a talented new cast, his usual style and flare, and a whole lot of the actual alien assassins. However, a mostly reshot third act pointed to massive changes coming for the film, despite the marketing campaign beginning.

The first teaser trailer for The Predator debuted just about a month ago to mixed reactions. The story itself didn’t win everyone over and Black’s style wasn’t as prevalent as many expected. With only a few glimpses of the actual Predator itself, there was definitely a need for more, and Fox didn’t wait long to provide it.

20th Century Fox (via JoBlo) debuted a new TV spot for The Predator during Game 4 of the NBA Finals. The spot features much more of the film’s cast, putting Trevante Rhodes and Boyd Holbrook in the heat of the action. But, the biggest moment comes right at the end when the Predator attacking Holbrook’s character is ripped out a window by an even larger Predator, signaling some Predator on Predator action in store.

The debut of this mega Predator comes following the set visit embargo lifting, and teases of a ten-foot version of the alien hunter being featured coming to light. Unless there is an even bigger version set to be included, the creature featured at the end of this trailer has to be it. What this means for the actual story of The Predator remains to be seen though. Is this larger version on Earth to hunt down the other Predator? Is it here to do what the regular Predator can not? Both are possible and could very well lead to the human characters being forced to work with the regular version to defeat the alpha.

Outside of the big reveal at the end, this spot looks to be more in line with what most expected out of a Shane Black Predator movie. There’s a quicker pace to this spot and better humor, while still maintaining the grit, violence, and action that people expect out of this franchise. Whether all of this translates into the final product is up for debate, as this could just be a well-edited spot. However, with the post-production changes now done, hopefully this is simply a better indication of what the final product will be this fall.
