Funko Pop! has released a Princess Bride limited edition Andre the Giant, in super-sized pop form, exclusively for New York Comic Con 2020.

Funko Pop! has released a limited edition super-sized figure of Andre the Giant as Fezzik from The Princess Bride for New York Comic Con 2020.

Fezzik, played by the late Andre the Giant in the 1987 film, is one of two men hired by Vizzini (Wallace Shawn) to kidnap Princess Buttercup (Robin Wright) and kill her. Fezzik and his partner-in-crime, Inigo Montoya (Mandy Patinkin), eventually team up with the film’s protagonist, Westley (Cary Elwes), to help save the princess.

The Funko Pop! toy features the character’s signature protruding brow ridge, costume and a rock, Fezzik’s weapon of choice.

Funko tweeted about the new toy’s release this week, with the caption, “Funko NYCC 2020 Reveals: The Princess Bride– Fezzik (Super-Sized).” Other NYCC 2020 reveals from the toy company include: Envy Adams from Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Carl and Ellie from Disney Pixar’s Up, Mrs. Weasley at The Burrow and Ron at the World Cup from Harry Potter, Luke and Leia from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and many, many memes.

New York Comic Con was meant to take place the weekend of Oct. 8-11, but due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, it is instead partnering with YouTube for an all-digital event. As with previous conventions such as San Diego Comic-Con and Star Wars Celebration, Funko has replaced the release of its toys meant for the convention with its own Virtual Con (4.0).

The Pop figures will be available to purchase when the event launches through the company’s online store as well as usual retailers such as GameStop, Target, and Hot Topic. The dates of Funko Virtual Con 4.0 have yet to be announced.
