Marvel’s The Punisher is one of the best superhero series of all time, even though the show was cancelled prematurely. The cast, the plot, the detailed characters, and the exuberant fighting sequences make it a must-watch for Marvel fans. The Punisher has always been regarded as a classic vigilante in the Marvel comics, and season two brings out one of the most iconic villains Frank Castle ever came up against.
After taking his revenge on Billy Russo, Frank has a new identity, namely Pete Castiliogne, and is trying to stay out of trouble. Back in New York City, Russo’s transformation in Jigsaw has already begun.
10 “My Brother’s Keeper” (8.3)
In the eighth episode of season 2, again, character development is in focus, with both Russo and Frank struggling to deal with the prevailing circumstances. Russo wants an answer as to why Frank is ready to kill him because he genuinely doesn’t know what evil things he did. Elsewhere, Frank is feeling, walking, and talking like a monster who just wants blood. But, when he visits his wife’s grave, he understands a couple of things about himself.
9 “Flustercluck” (8.3)
In the ninth episode of season 2, Russo manages to find himself a small army, which steals and robs places. He’s doing that in order to get some money, deal with Frank, and run away with Krista. But The Punisher will not rest until Russo is not breathing. Amy isn’t happy about being neglected, so she goes to meet someone from her past without knowing that there’s a bounty on her head. Frank must find her before something bad happens.
8 “One-Eyed Jacks” (8.4)
In the fifth episode of season 2, Pilgrim’s background is revealed, as he is told by Anderson and Eliza Schultz that his mission is not over. In New York, Frank has got hold of Turk, in order to get some information regarding the Russian Mafia and why they need the photos. As always, Frank gets shattered while beating a couple of men half to death. Elsewhere, Dinah is struggling to deal with the fact that Russo is free again.
7 “One Bad Day” (8.4)
In the seventh episode of season 2, Dinah, after being confronted by Pilgrim, runs an ID on him but he turns out to be a ghost, with no history.
Curtis and Frank are behind Russo, who is planning to rob a bank with his new crew. This episode plays a huge role in understanding Russo’s Jigsaw personality. It turns out, Russo wasn’t playing anyone and that he certainly didn’t know who put him in a bad shape. When Frank came close to him in The Punisher costume, he absolutely lost it.
6 “The Abyss” (8.5)
The eleventh episode of season 2 deals with the aftermath of the bloodbath the fans witnessed in the previous episode. An emotionally broken Frank lies in a hospital bed, going over the events again and again. Dinah, Amy, and Karen Page step up to help him but he doesn’t need it. That’s because he thinks he has murdered three innocent people. Hence, Dinah and Karen decide to take a look at the evidence to be absolutely sure.
5 “The Dark Hearts Of Men” (8.8)
In the tenth episode of season 2, the fans get a detailed look into the sort of people Frank and Russo are. Krista talks to Dinah in order to understand The Punisher and how can she help in breaking him. Frank is circling around Russo and his buddies, with help from Curtis but he doesn’t know that he is moving into a trap, that could ruin everything he stands for. He might become the monster he most feared.
4 “Trouble The Water” (8.9)
In the third episode of season 2, Larkville County Sheriff’s office is under attack, thanks to the war between Pilgrim, Frank, and Amy. It’s another episode filled with bloodshed and is absolutely breathless.
Back in New York, Billy Russo is continuing his restructuring but before it can happen, he escapes from the hands of his doctor, Krista Dumont. This leads Dinah Madani to seek Frank but little does she know about the problems The Punisher is facing, at the moment.
3 “Collision Course” (8.9)
In the penultimate episode of season 2, Brett Mahoney has arrested Frank but he needs to understand that there a lot of people willing to take The Punisher out. Mahoney might have finally grasped how a man like Frank thinks, which is a good thing, considering the fact that Mahoney thinks Frank is a mad man. It’s a pretty good hour or so, which sets up the finale perfectly. Russo, Curtis, Amy, Frank, Pilgrim, and Dinah are in the thick of the action.
2 “Roadhouse Blues” (9.0)
The first episode of season 2 is an absolute classic. There’s blood, there’s love, there’s passion, and there’s mystery. It has everything the fans loved about the show in season one. Frank seems to be done with all the action and is now travelling all over the country, it seems. But trouble has a way of finding New York’s most feared man. This time, it comes by the name of Amy Bendix, a 16 years old girl, who is being chased by a dangerous criminal, John Pilgrim.
1 “The Whirlwind” (9.1)
The season 2 finale lives up to the hype, considering the fact that there were two separate storylines that had to be put to bed. Russo is about to meet his makers and Frank is there to put him to bed once and for all. Pilgrim’s days might be numbered too but when Frank learns that his children’s lives are at stake, he decides to give him another chance. That is a testament to the way The Punisher thinks. He has a soft spot for people with family.
