In the end credits of Kill Bill, the screenplay is credited to Quentin Tarantino alone, but the character, Beatrix “the Bride” Kiddo, is credited to both Tarantino and the actress who played her, Uma Thurman.

According to Thurman, she conceived the character with Tarantino on the set of Pulp Fiction. The Bride has since become one of the most iconic characters in movie history, especially in terms of female action heroes – in those terms, she ranks alongside the true greats, like Ellen Ripley and Sarah Connor. There are a number of classic moments and quotes in Pulp Fiction. One of them is the climactic diner scene, which brings us full circle and reveals that Jules and Vincent were actually present for the seemingly irrelevant diner scene the movie opened with (that turned out to actually be the final scene).

As Tim Roth’s Pumpkin goes around the diner, taking everyone’s wallets, we see Jules’ wallet, which says: “Bad Mother F****r.” Apparently, in real life, it was Tarantino’s own wallet. He has a bunch of memorable scenes, like the flashback in which he takes a Confederate soldier out into the snow and gives him a creative way to stay warm, and memorable lines, like when he calls Daisy Domergue a “diabolical b***h!” in super slow motion.

Quentin Tarantino has a habit of casting himself in supporting roles in his movies. In his sophomore directorial effort, Pulp Fiction, he plays Jimmie Dimmick, the guy whose garage Jules and Vincent use to hide their blood-spattered car after the latter actually shoots Marvin in the face.

When he made his most recent spaghetti western The Hateful Eight, Quentin Tarantino finally managed to convince the great Ennio Morricone – his (and a lot of moviegoers’) favorite composer of all time – to write the score. The tense atmosphere and claustrophobic entrapment of the movie is translated perfectly into music by Morricone’s interesting score.

The composer claimed he didn’t want to give Tarantino the same kind of music he used to give Sergio Leone for his spaghetti westerns – he wanted to veer into newer, more modern territory with this score. The score won an Oscar and a Golden Globe, deservingly. The soundtrack album also includes pop hits by the likes of Roy Orbison and the White Stripes, which also appear in the movie.
