The Vampire Diaries’ Salvatores are a pair of formidable brothers, but how do they size up against these Teen Wolf villains?

Damon and Stefan Salvatore faced off against their fair share of villains over the course of The Vampire Diaries. Sometimes, they were even the villains themselves. They have experience going up against fellow vampires, werewolves, witches, and even humans with supernatural agendas. That makes them pretty versatile combatants.
The Teen Wolf canon stuck mostly with shapeshifters – and never vampires. Villains on Teen Wolf never had to face off against someone who could be burned by sunlight or who could compel them to do their bidding. The Salvatore Brothers would likely find just as many Teen Wolf characters challenging as they would easy to defeat.
10 CAN DEFEAT: Theo
Theo is someone who is incredibly confident that he can get the job done. That overconfidence often costs him.
As a human, he brings his own sisters to the Dread Doctors to get them to turn him into a shapeshifter. He’s willing to betray anyone and everyone if it means keeping himself alive. Damon would likely see right through him and put an end to him fairly quickly.
9 CANNOT: The Desert Wolf
The Desert Wolf is the name given to a woman who shapeshifts into a werecoyote and tries to kill her own daughter to get her power back. She’s tough, and she’s survived for decades by knowing exactly what strengths and weaknesses her prey has.
Damon and Stefan would likely underestimate her, believing she is just a typical shapeshifter. She would definitely surprise them and live to fight another day.
8 CAN DEFEAT: The Beast
The Beast is the first known werewolf in Teen Wolf canon. While The Vampire Diaries has their own version of werewolf origins, the idea of tackling a massive werewolf isn’t all that different from things that already happened in the series.
Likewise, the Beast taking on someone else’s body in the modern day isn’t a foreign concept to the Salvatore brothers either. Souls entering and controlling the bodies of others happens all of the time in their world. They would be ready to face the Beast.
7 CANNOT: Kate Argent
Kate Argent hasn’t lived as long as Katerina Petrova, but they have a similar survivor’s instinct. Katerina becomes Katherine and tries to find ways to buy her freedom and make amends for her betrayal. Kate, on the other hand, embraces her werejaguar side and leads an army of berserkers.
One (or both) of the Salvatore brothers would likely try to find Kate’s redeeming qualities, even be attracted to her, and sure that they could find a way to “save” her. That would be their mistake. Kate doesn’t want to be saved. She wants power, and she’d do anything to take it.
6 CAN DEFEAT: The Kanima
Figuring out who the Kanima is might require some help from their friends who spend more time in town than they do, but the Salvatore brothers are better at research and investigation than most vampires on television.
A paralytic toxin would be nothing they couldn’t handle either. As long as they worked together, Damon and Stefan could easily help the person underneath the Kanima’s appearance realize what is happening and embrace their new life as a shapeshifter.
5 CANNOT: Dread Doctors
Mystic Falls has seen its fair share of scientists and doctors try to use supernatural knowledge to their own benefit. The small town, however, hasn’t seen scientists like these.
The Dread Doctors have somehow achieved immortality, and they use their unlimited time to experiment on the supernatural, creating new chimeras, or in the world of The Vampire Diaries, hybrids, without the help of magic. There would likely be no stopping them in a place like Mystic Falls that is full of supernatural beings.
4 CAN DEFEAT: Nogitsune
The Nogitsune is a trickster spirit who thrives on chaos. When he takes over the body of Stiles in Teen Wolf, he’s eventually able to make himself whole in Stiles’ image and exist on his own. Damon and Stefan likely wouldn’t be willing to defeat (that is, kill or imprison) the Nogitsune if he was using one of their friends, but they’d be more than willing to go after him once he was separate.
A love for chaos and chess wouldn’t be enough to save the Nogitsune. Damon, especially, would grow tired of his antics and be in a hurry to get rid of him.
3 CANNOT: Ghost Riders
Riders on the storm, the Ghost Riders are pretty powerful beings. They only seem to be apprehensive of hellhounds and banshees. Since they literally ride lightning into town, they can withstand a fair amount of damage.
The Ghost Riders also remove people completely from existence, taking all of the memories of those people with them. Without someone who could see between the two worlds helping them, the Salvatore brothers would never even realize the Ghost Riders were there.
2 CAN DEFEAT: Deucalion
Deucalion may be an Alpha on Teen Wolf, but he’s no match for the Salvatores. The brothers have gone up against enough strong wolves in their day to be mindful of Deucalion’s tricks.
Like Scott, however, they would probably just run him out of town. After all, you never know when you might need to call in a favor from a werewolf you let survive, right?
1 CANNOT: Beacon Hills Residents
In both Beacon Hills and Mystic Falls, there are plenty of humans who discover the world of the supernatural around them. Some of them choose to ignore it, while others try to chase it down. Still others are afraid of it, which is what the Anuk-Ite takes advantage of in Teen Wolf.
It makes the people of Beacon Hills so terrified of the supernatural that they are willing to stand up and fight it. When an entire town of humans turns against their supernatural residents, it’s hard to fight. Mystic Falls already knows that as several vampires were imprisoned in a tomb hundreds of years earlier. The Salvatores would likely see the same fight unless they could somehow manage to compel every human they interact with.
