The two are proof that quality is more important than quantity, and many viewers believe they are the best ship in The Vampire Diaries. However, not everyone agrees when it comes to Klaroline, and there are plenty of Reddit users with unpopular opinions about their romance.

8 Klaroline Should’ve Happened After Tyler And Camille’s Natural Deaths

Years after Caroline loses Stefan and Klaus loses Camille, Caroline and Klaus pick up where they left off in the final season of The Originals. However, Reddit user lldom1987 has a different idea of how their reunion should have played out.

They believe Caroline and Tyler “would have been great together until his natural death” just like Klaus and Camille would’ve been great together until her’s. Only after, should Klaus and Caroline have happened. Klaus and Caroline ending up together isn’t an unpopular opinion in the slightest, but most fans aren’t on board with Forwood and Klamille.

7 Caroline Got More Heat For Klaus Than Elena Did For Damon

Tyler’s reaction is as expected, but Reddit user nicfanz believes Caroline gets more heat for sleeping with Klaus than the other characters do for their own choices. They reference Elena sleeping with Damon and claim that “everyone else’s actions are brushed under the rugs.”

Tyler has no right to chastize Caroline after he abandons her, but Elena gets plenty of heat when it comes to her relationship with Damon. Most of the characters are simply surprised by Klaroline’s development, while Elena is constantly being judged for being with Damon. Caroline does much of the scolding herself, which is understandable given what Damon did to her. Still, Elena definitely receives the most berating of the two.

No one expects Klaus Mikaelson to fall for a small-town girl from Mystic Falls, yet Caroline manages to spark a real change in him. His devotion to her is admirable, and their storyline in The Originals proves that their bond isn’t purely physical.

Although they like the dynamic between Klaus and Caroline, one Reddit user is happy that they never become a couple. The user feels that it would “end up being awful like Delena” and “would ruin Caroline’s character” just like Elena’s.

This is an unpopular opinion for several reasons, especially because many viewers think Damon and Elena are soulmates in The Vampire Diaries. Even if Damon does cause Elena to bend her morals, Caroline has made it clear that she’s not willing to do the same. She refuses to give Klaus her friendship until he proves he’s deserving of it.

They believe that it’s “nonsense” for Caroline to claim that Klaus isn’t the villain of her story “considering he tried to kill her a lot.”

Klaus does try to kill all of the characters when he’s first introduced as the antagonist, but it’s no different than the other “enemies to lovers” relationships the show creates. Once Klaus develops feelings for her, she becomes off-limits. He chooses to save Caroline over his own sister, and although he bites Caroline in the fourth season, he heals her and proves he would never actually let her die. He might hurt others, but Caroline isn’t wrong by acknowledging that Klaus is never a real threat to her.
