Thor: Ragnarok has finished its three weeks of reshoots, just ahead of the movie’s presence at San Diego Comic-Con. The third solo outing for the God of Thunder, Ragnarok is expected to change things up from what fans have come to expect from Asgard, with a major presence from the Hulk and a more vibrant, Jack Kirby-esque style from new director Taika Waitti.

The film started principal production last July, during which several set photos gave a taste of what Waitti was going for – most notably a new, hobo look for Odin. Filming wrapped in October 2016, well over a year ahead of release. It emerged earlier this month that the film was undergoing short reshoots in Atlanta. Now we have confirmation not only that they’re all wrapped but exactly how long they went on for.

Chris Hemsworth’s body double Bobby Holland Hanton shared an image on Instagram of his with the actor celebrating the end of the “epic little 3 week reshoot” and sharing his excitement film. Waitti concurred this with a screencap post on his Instagram, simply saying “Losers”.

Well that’s a wrappppppp on Ragnarok AKA Thor 3, epic little 3 week reshoot! Cannot wait to see the finished article in November! This would mean Ragnarok finished shooting days before Marvel Studios SDCC panel, during which a full official trailer for the film is expected to be shown. This tight timeline is representative of Marvel’s highly-organized machine, with Avengers: Infinity War’s production wrapping at a similar time. This sets everything up nicely for the Saturday panel, with a massive set of actors expected to appear; it would now seem a cert that pretty much everyone from Thor will be making an appearance.

The original reshoot report stated only a week of filming in Atlanta, suggesting that two of the three week period was on location or otherwise away from what has become Marvel’s go-to studio base. Whatever was being handled, three weeks is a pretty standard length for pick-ups; recent cases like Suicide Squad and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has got audiences wary of the “R” word, but it’s all a natural part of the filming process.

Even if there were rumors of problems, they’d be unlikely to halt the excitement for Ragnarok. The Thor movies have been subject to more scrutiny than other MCU sub-franchises, but after a very impressive, almost Guardians of the Galaxy style teaser trailer hopes are high for something unique that does the Asgardian justice and neatly sets up next year’s epic showdown.
