This film is based on the true events of the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013 where two bombs were detonated, killing and injuring those at the finish line of the marathon. Mark Wahlberg portrays a fictional character that was at the marathon and helps in the manhunt for the two suspects. Alex Wolff portrays one of the brothers who were found to be the perpetrators of the bombing.
