Power left our screens in February, and although it’s not completely the end, it is the end of the line for some of the biggest storylines we became obsessed with over the Starz show in the last few years. If you totaled the number of life sentences the main characters in this series should get then it would probably be in the four-figure region. Power was littered with brutal murders, deception, and twists that had you begging for more at the end of every series.

The series was well-received throughout and held some pretty good ratings on IMDb, here are the best ones!

10 S2 E10 – Ghost Is Dead (9.3)

Top 10 Power Episodes According To IMDb

Going into the season 2 finale of Power, fans were left in the dark around who they could trust. The likable anti-hero Kanan (50 Cent) was on the rampage, killing his own son before having a showdown with Ghost towards the end, and Angela was left in a huge dilemma when it came to giving Ghost up. The Showdown was epic, Ghost got battered but somehow came out on top and Kanan was last seen nursing a stab wound inside a burning building.

There was also a shock twist to the finale, with Assistant U.S attorney Mike Sandoval being revealed as the mole that infamous drug lord Lobos had on the inside.

9 S4 E9 – That Ain’t Me (9.3)

Top 10 Power Episodes According To IMDb

Tariq really messes up in this episode. His inability to do a job properly and get caught up in Ghost and Kanan’s mess leads him to the dirty cop Ray Ray, who eventually ends up on his tail. He also tells his twin sister Raina about the dirty cop, which in the end results in her confronting Ray Ray and shot dead.

It was at this moment the St. Patrick family was really broken and you got a sense as a viewer that the criminal lives they all had been living had gotten way out of hand. On top of this, this episode saw Tommy meet his crooked father Teresi in jail, Angela beats Mak and Saxe to the top spot in the U.S Attorney’s Office, and the fiancĂ© of a man Ghost killed in season one hears his voice for the first time again, something that would later have serious implications to Ghost.

8 S4 E5 – Don’t Thank Me (9.4)

Top 10 Power Episodes According To IMDb

As the heat mounts up on Ghost, who’s sitting behind bars awaiting sentencing for the murder of FBI agent Greg Knox, his trusted lawyer Proctor gets taken off the case and replaced with Terry Silver. Angela gets closer to finding out who really killed Knox, and finds vital evidence to prove that Ghost had nothing to do with it, but is unsure on whether or not to testify.

The real memorable moment from this episode, however, was when Ghost bashed in a prison officer’s head with a weight plate in the gym, for a brief moment you thought that ghost had blown everything, but Teresi covers for him, a debt that Ghost would later regret owing.

7 S4 E10 – You Can’t Fix This (9.4)

Top 10 Power Episodes According To IMDb

This finale follows on from the shocking events of the previous episode, where the second-youngest member of Ghost’s family, Raina, was shot and killed in the crossfire of some beef Tariq was having with dirty cop Ray Ray.

In this season finale, Ghost, Tasha, Tommy, and Tariq plan their next move with regards to avenging Raina, however, it’s Tariq who pulls the trigger in the end, using his mothers gun. Tasha wants to take the wrap for the murder but reaches out to her lawyer/lover Terry Silver for help.

6 S5 E9 – There’s A Snitch Among Us (9.4)

Top 10 Power Episodes According To IMDb

After the chaos of the previous episode where Kanan’s time came to an end, this one didn’t let up either. Angela jeopardizes her entire livelihood when she gives Ghost pictures of Teresi meeting with the cops and turning informant, Ghost uses his contacts to get this proof of snitching back to Tommy, who in the end kills his own father.

It was a harrowing scene, admittedly not as bad as when he killed his girlfriend Holly, but to see Tommy manipulated this way into taking out his own father was tough and would change the relationship between him and Ghost forever.

5 S5 E10 – When This Is Over (9.4)

Top 10 Power Episodes According To IMDb

In the season 5 finale, Tommy finds out that it was Ghost who set him up to kill his own Father and goes for blood. The episode finishes on the mother of all cliff-hangers, with Ghost going after Angela thinking she was the female informant who had evidence on him, but then realizing she isn’t and having a romantic moment in somewhere they used to hang out.

Tommy goes after Ghost for snaking him out, but doesn’t manage to shoot him and gets Angela instead. The episode ends with Angela dying in Ghost’s arms.

4 S6 E5 – King’s Gambit (9.4)

Top 10 Power Episodes According To IMDb

This episode says goodbye to a character we all loved from the early seasons of Power, Joe Proctor. His death was pretty epic and wasn’t done lightly. Saxe had evidence that Proctor set his ex-wife up to die, and vowed to proceed with it unless Proctor flipped on who killed Angela.

Proctor told Saxe that it was Tommy who did it, but Tommy soon finds out that Proctor turned informant and goes to kill him…with a machine gun. In a Scarface style scene towards the end of the episode, Tommy gunned down Proctor.

3 S6 E13 – It’s All Your Fault (9.4)

Top 10 Power Episodes According To IMDb

This is Tommy’s episode. After Ghost was shot dead in the mid-season finale of season 6, the episodes that followed were flashback episodes focusing on each suspect in detail and giving that character the goodbye to the series they deserved.

Tommy’s episode is the best of these, he discovers that Keisha’s murderer wasn’t really Ghost, as well as almost getting implicated for murder through some evidence that the dead lawyer Proctor had with his daughter before he died. Tommy also takes out some old enemies on his own, watches his lifelong best friend Ghost die in his arms, and moves to LA to start a new life.

2 S5 E8 – A Friend Of The Family (9.5)

Top 10 Power Episodes According To IMDb

Tariq really comes into his own in this episode, and you could say has officially ‘joined the game’ in NYC. He sets up a trusted friend Kanan to get arrested with a murder weapon in the trunk of his car, Kanan tries to escape the cops but ultimately dies from his bullet wounds. Kanan was a fan-favorite and although his death came as a surprise, 50 Cent’s character was on borrowed time and his death was probably coming for a while.

This moment stole the episode, however towards the end it was revealed that Tommy’s father Teresi was prepared to flip on Ghost killing the prison officer, giving Ghost a new problem.

1 S6 E8 – Deal With The Devil (9.5)

Wow. This episode was epic. Keisha got an unexpected visit from Tommy’s mother, who did some scaremongering around Tommy’s previous lover who he strangled to death. Keisha finally agrees to flip on Tommy and turn informant in return for top-level witness protection. Tasha visits Keisha and that’s where it all gets crazy, Tasha finds the papers proving Keisha was going to flip, and after a heated argument, Tasha out of nowhere shoots her best friend square in the face.

This scene was jaw-dropping, Tasha is just as criminal-minded as the rest of her clan and this was just the icing on the cake and why this episode is undoubtedly the joint best in the whole of Power.
