3From action-adventure spy thrillers to musicals, Taron Egerton’s young acting career is already incredibly diverse. Getting his first big break starring as Eggsy in Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman franchise, he certainly didn’t let that define his future career.

After Kingsman Egerton took roles as an underdog Olympian, a singing animated gorilla, and portrayed Elton John in the 2019 Rocketman. He continues to surprise on the big screen and we hope he doesn’t plan on slowing down anytime soon. Seeing as how he should be returning to Kingsman and he’s in talks to star as Seymour in the Little Shop of Horrors remake it seems unlikely he’s going to lose steam anytime soon. 10 Robin Hood (2018) – 5.3

This rendition of the story of Robin Hood casts Taron Egerton as the titular character. Although Egerton does a good job in the lead role this film didn’t get the best of reviews. There’s a lot of slow-motion action, so much that it’s distracting, and the story has probably been done and redone too many times at this point. That being said, it’s a fun popcorn flick with a lot of Taron Egerton action scenes and he wields a bow and arrow through most of it, check it out if you want a lot of Egerton!

9 Billionaire Boys Club (2018) – 5.6

Billionaire Boys Club is based on a true story of a group of young privileged men in the 1980’s who start a fraudulent Ponzi scheme that escalates to murder. Taron Egerton and Ansel Elgort are the two ring leaders of the bunch. It doesn’t have many good reviews, but it is in the genre of hits like Wall Street and Wolf of Wall Street and has a lot of Taron Egerton.

8 Kingsman: The Golden Circle (2017) -6.7

This sequel to Kingsman: The Secret Service was a fun ride. It kept a lot of the same things that audiences loved from the first film and added on a few new attractions.

This movie sees Eggsy and Merlin (Mark Strong) trying to rebuild after someone destroys the British Kingsman bases and they find unknown friends in America, including Jeff Bridges, Halle Berry, Channing Tatum, and Pedro Pascal. Although not as successful as the first film, it’s still a fun film and you see a lot of Taron Egerton!

7 Legend (2015) – 6.9

Legend is based on the true story of the Kray brothers (both played by Tom Hardy) who elevated their organized crime business to dangerous heights as they brutally extort and murder to get their way. Taron Egerton plays the psychotic Teddy who was rumored to have had affairs with Ron Kray. The movie delves into the brothers’ relationship and is interesting to watch seeing how Hardy plays both brothers.

6 Sing (2016) – 7.1

This animated jukebox musical follows a group of animal contestants that are vying for a reward from showrunner and theater owner, Buster Moon the koala, voiced by Matthew McConaughey. It’s an uplifting and adorable movie with some fun singing from great musical talents like Taron Egerton, Seth McFarlane, and Tori Kelly.

Taron Egerton’s animated gorilla, Johnny, even sings Elton John’s “I’m Still Standing” acting as fun foreshadowing for his role as Elton in 2019’s Rocketman. It’s a great feel-good movie that’s worth checking out!

5 Testament of Youth (2014) – 7.3

Based on the memoirs of Vera Brittan (played by Alicia Vikander) this film follows the Brittan family right before and during World War I. It follows Vera as she chooses to leave her education at Oxford to become a nurse for the war. Her older brother Edward, played by Taron Egerton, goes to fight in the war alongside childhood friend Roland, played by Kit Harington. The film is dramatic and focuses on the war and how it affects each one of these characters and the rest of Britain.

4 Rocketman (2019) – 7.3

Rocketman follows Elton John’s life from his loveless childhood to his budding music career to his addiction and eventual recovery. The movie also delves into his relationships including best friend and lyricist Bernie Taupin (Jamie Bell) and manager turned lover John Reid (Richard Madden).

The cast lends their voices to Elton John’s songs and it’s clear that Taron Egerton put his all into this film, acting and singing-wise. It’s a great musical with a good balance of comedy and drama, if you’re a fan of Elton John’s music and Taron Egerton’s acting and singing it’s definitely worth the watch!

3 Eddie the Eagle (2015) – 7.4

Taron Egerton stars in this sports movie based on a true story. Eddie grows up wanting to be an Olympic athlete, but the problem is he’s not very athletic. He doesn’t let this stop him as he continues to train and even when he’s passed over for the Olympic team he makes a new path as he beings ski jumping, which is incredibly dangerous.

He is laughed at and mocked as he tries to train, but finally finds a reluctant but eventually willing coach (Hugh Jackman) to teach him the ropes. It’s an uplifting and feel-good movie because although everything is in Eddie’s way he continues and will not be deterred from his dream of being an Olympic athlete.

2 Kingsman: The Secret Service (2014) – 7.7

The first film in this spy franchise sees Eggsy (Taron Egerton) before he is prompted to join the Kingsman Secret Service. Eggsy learns that his father was part of the program and gave his life to save Colin Firth’s Gallahad. Gallahad returns the favor and recruits Eggsy as a potential member. There are a few twists and turns throughout and some James Bond level spy gadgets and villainry from Samuel L. Jackson and Sofia Boutella. It’s a fun and hilarious movie with some great fight choreography throughout, check it out if you haven’t!

1 The Last of the Haussmans (2012) – 7.8

The Last of the Haussmans was a play filmed for the screen. It follows an elderly hippie as she attempts to deal with her family’s problems and their issues and dysfunctional family life. As most filmed plays are, it’s an engaging medium and always exciting when everyone can see the play in the comfort of their own homes when they cannot catch the play in production.
