The 2000s teen pop culture was dominated by Twilight. The movie defines the dreamy teen vampire, the hunky werewolf, and the supernatural love story that only exists on the small and big screen. Twilight is well known for the somewhat cringy yet steamy kisses between Bella and Edward.
The movie itself wasn’t riddled with countless kiss scenes, but when there was one, they were often memorable and even sweet at times. Bella and Edward’s prom kiss will forever be remembered. To level the playing field, Bella and Edward weren’t the only ones who got worthwhile kisses either – from Carlisle and Esme to Alice and Jasper, love was always in the air.
10 Before The Breakup Kiss
New Moon took fans on an emotional rollercoaster as Edward decides he can no longer put Bella in danger. Before the big breakup, the two characters shared a kiss outside Bella’s home.
Fans can agree that the kisses between Bella and Edward were a bit cringe-worthy, and this particular scene had fans either laughing or shielding their eyes as Bella asks for one more kiss before her birthday is over. Both characters seem to have a hard time reigning in their desires and making the kiss short. The scene had some more meaning as Edward then decides to cut himself out of Bella’s life and breaks up with her in the forest.
9 Edward Almost Exposes Vampires
New Moon had a plethora of kisses to talk about. One of them was near the end of the movie when Edward believes that Bella is dead. The only way he can meet his own death is by exposing vampires to humans and being killed by the Volturi, but thankfully, Bella arrives just in time to shield him from the sunlight.
This kiss is a bit more emotional as Edward can’t believe that Bella is alive in front of him. He states that he couldn’t live in a world where Bella didn’t exist. After heartfelt sentiments, Bella and Edward share a long and passionate kiss after realizing they can still be together.
8 The Honeymoon
The entire honeymoon bedroom scene counts as a notable kissing scenario. In Breaking Dawn: Part 1, Bella and Edward tied the knot and escape to their lavish honeymoon in Isle Esme. Fans can agree that the steamy night as a married couple was also a bit cringe-worthy but it still remembered for one reason.
Edward actually gives in to Bella and indulges in a night of passion. After three movie installments of kisses being more PG-13, these kiss scenes take the cake. Even Edward was so caught up in the moment that he breaks the bedframe.
7 Emmett & Rosalie
There were more couples than just Bella and Edward worth talking about. Rosalie and Emmett were a power couple as Emmett was a behemoth vampire and Rosalie was a graceful beauty but deadly when needed. Fans may have noticed that the other couples in the franchise didn’t get many kissing scenes.
Hence why when Rosalie and Emmett kiss in Breaking Dawn: Part 2 became so memorable. After the drama of the fake battle and the Cullens and their allies are able to convince the Volturi that Renesmee can live a normal life, everyone rejoices. Emmett and Rosalie share a deep kiss of love and admiration.
6 Jasper & Alice
Jasper and Alice quickly became a favorite second-lead couple. Alice was the perfect match for Jasper as he still suffered from PTSD from training newborns. They have a loving and understanding relationship that fans adored, and audiences were over the moon when they finally get their kiss moment in Eclipse.
Jasper tells his emotional past of being turned into a monster when he trained newborns. He explains to Bella that he didn’t know any better until he met Alice. Alice shows up beside him and reassured him that he will never have to become that way again, and they share an emotional kiss. It was a kiss that even Bella looked shyly away from.
5 Carlise & Esme Deleted Scene
Despite this scene having not been included in the original Twilight movie, it’s still adored by fans. The deleted scene occurs simultaneously as Edward jumps out of his room with Bella on his back. They are unaware that Esme and Carlisle happen to be watching.
What made the scene so sweet was Esme reassuring Carlisle that Bella and Edward’s love with prevail. Esme spiced it up a bit when she shoves Carlisle against the wall. While holding her close, Carlisle calls her a hopeless romantic and kisses her.
4 Jacob, Bella & The Battle
In Eclipse, Bella is taken up into the mountains to keep her safe from the newborn army and battle that will take place. From this came one of the franchise’s most memorable kisses, between Bella and Jacob.
Jacob and Bell have a fight about their conflicting emotions towards each other. Once he threatens to put himself in danger in a horrible display of emotional manipulation, Bella asks Jacob to kiss her. Their kiss on a snowy mountain had Team Jacob fans rejoicing, while Team Edward members were anything but.
3 Bella & Edward’s Wedding
A Twilight fan or not, many can agree that Edward and Bella’s wedding was drop-dead gorgeous. From the magical forest setting to Bella’s stunning white dress, what pulled it all together was the kiss. After Bella and Edward give their heartfelt vows, they share their first kiss as husband and wife.
The camera pans to circle around them as Iron & Wine’s wedding version of “Flightless Bird, American Mouth” plays. Edward finally gets his human wish and Bella marries her true love. Analyzing the scene, fans may notice something even sweeter as Bella and Edward kiss. They’re in their own world as there are no guests around them.
2 Their First Kiss
The first kiss is a big deal even for Bella and Edward. As they are showered in the light of the moon, Edward tells Bella to stay still because he wants to try something.
As fans held their breath, Edward leans in to tentatively kiss Bella. Bella becomes so enamored by the kiss that she goes full force initiating a small makeout. What had fans laughing and remembering the moment is when Edward can’t hold on and forces himself away from Bella and crashes into the wall.
1 Bella Punches Jacob
Edward and Bella may take the cake for the most kisses seeing as they’re the main character, but none top the first kiss between Bella and Jacob. This is mainly because of the aftermath that occurs. Bella visits Jacob at La Push and Jacob soon gives her a reality check about his feelings.
Jacob confesses that he’s in love with her and that she needed to weigh her options. Bella tries to tell him that she doesn’t have the same feelings, but Jacob thinks that she does feel something even if she refuses to admit it. Fans gasped as Jacob kisses her without her permission. To make the situation better and worse, Bella punches Jacob and breaks her hand.
