Two Guys A Girl And A Pizza Place Let The Internet Decide Its Ending

Two Guys, A Girl And A Pizza Place let fans decide the ending. Two Guys, A Girl And A Pizza Place initially centered around college friends Berg (Ryan Reynolds, Detective Pikachu), Peter (Richard Ruccolo) and Sharon (Traylor Howard). Like the title suggests, a lot of the action took place in a pizza parlor, but when the show’s format changed during season 3 the pizza place was dropped entirely, and the show was retitled Two Guys And A Girl.

Season 2 also introduced new characters like Johnny (Nathan Fillion, Firefly) and Ashley (Suzanne Cryer). Two Guys, A Girl And A Pizza Place ran for four seasons and has since become a cult series. It’s probably best remembered for being Ryan Reynolds’ first major part, and once the show ended he moved on to movies like Van Wilder and Blade: Trinity. It was around the time he worked on the latter movie he was first thinking of making a Deadpool movie, though it took a long time for the movie to come together.

The internet was still a relatively fresh phenomenon back in the early 2000s, which is why Two Guys, A Girl And A Pizza Place’s season 4 finale is so unique. “The Internet Show” featured Sharon, Ashley and Berg’s girlfriend Irene all realizing they could be pregnant. The show filmed four possible outcomes for this episode revealing which one of the female leads was actually pregnant and another ending where none of them are.

Fans of Two Guys, A Girl And A Pizza Place were allowed to vote for the finale’s outcome, and the ending revealing Ashley is pregnant was the winner. “The Internet Show” ended with Ashley revealing this to Peter, but the cliffhanger ending has her leave to go to Stanford. The plan for season 5 was to have Ashley give birth by the end of the series, but season 4 suffered a major dip in ratings and the show was canceled.

“The Internet Show” clearly wasn’t designed to be a proper finale to Two Guys, A Girl And A Pizza Place, but that’s how it worked out. While the internet vote was clearly a gimmick, it set up some interesting possibilities for a fifth season. Each season of the show featured the main characters slowly learning to become adults, so it would have been a new dynamic to see them adjust to impending parenthood. Sadly for fans of Two Girls, A Guy And A Pizza Place, a proper finale never came, and a reunion episode is very unlikely.
