Valorant includes a total of 16 agents with some being more and others less useful. Here are the top 10 that manage to shine through the meta.

Valorant’s 3.0 update, released a few weeks ago, was full of major changes regarding skill cooldowns and costs, and, with 3.01 bringing no balance adjustments, the game’s meta has altered significantly. Episode 3 now favors more gunfights through some of Valorant’s best weapons instead of placing the focus on abilities.
With the latest addition of KAY/O, Valorant includes a total of 16 agents, all with unique skills and mechanics. With all the recent changes, the agent tier lists have changed significantly, with some of the previously strong agents underperforming, while some of the weaker ones rise at the top.
10 Raze
Raze saw her most useful skill, the boombot, nerfed in 3.0, with its cost being increased to 400. Although this sets her back a lot since she can’t buy it on the pistol rounds anymore, she is still considered to be an overall solid character with great damaging abilities and an ultimate that although hard to get, almost always guarantees at least one kill.
As long as Raze’s damage isn’t nerfed, she will be a strong agent even though her skill damage is one of the things that still puzzle players and makes no sense in a gunfight-favoring meta.
9 Reyna
Reyna’s only recent change was an increase in her Leer cost, boosting it from 200 to 250. Not only does she remain significantly strong and one of the easiest agents in Valorant to use, but she is also able to rise even higher due to the meta created by KAY/O.
Combined with KAY/O’s suppress skill, Reyna can more easily swoop in a fight, grab a kill, and then either relocate or heal and keep fighting. In short, it is even easier for Reyna to get the first kill that will help her chain her abilities and pop off.
8 Sage
Despite Sage’s substantial nerf, she remains a solid character overall due to her extremely versatile kit, and, of course, her ultimate, which resurrects an ally. Although Sage players will now have to be a bit more conservative with their abilities, they are still equally useful and can even solely win a round.
Sage is strong both pre-plant and post-plant, and she’s a solid choice for both attackers and defenders. Despite her nerfs, she remains a top-tier character in Valorant.
7 Killjoy
The only nerf that Killjoy received was the increased cooldown time after picking up her turrets to 20 seconds. Nevertheless, as long as the turrets are picked up once per round to rotate sites, the cooldown changes are almost insignificant.
These changes only establish Killjoy’s role as a control character that should be the last to leave the site and makes the player have to think twice before changing positions.
6 Jett
Although Jett received some nerfs to her skill cost, her mobility remains top-notch and that is more than enough to make her a great agent. Her ultimate is a great option when she doesn’t have enough money for a full buy, while her all-around kit is an insane asset at the hands of the right player who can utilize it properly through rapid and precise movements.
5 KAY/O
KAY/O is Valorant’s latest agent and, although it might be a bit early to consider how good he is, as many players don’t know yet how to utilize him efficiently, he seems to be one of the better agents in the game.
He includes a solid flash similar to Phoenix, a swarm grenade similar to Killjoy, as well as a unique ability that suppresses enemies’ abilities and shows exactly which enemies are suppressed whenever used. This provides for some great info, combined with a debuff, and all those on top of his first two skills, which make KAY/O an exceptionally strong agent.
4 Astra
Although Astra received some nerfs in her star cost and placement, she is still considered one of the best control characters in the game due to how many things she can do with her stars.
Although she is difficult to master, the possibilities are almost endless, and a good player can really make Astra shine. She is considered a great option in well-coordinated teams where she can guide the attack or defense plan from the background.
3 Skye
Although Skye’s skill cost got increased, she received some amazing buffs that help her become one of the best initiators at the moment. With her Trailblazer vision and concussion duration increased, she can gather info and even initiate more efficiently.
On top of that, her flashes regenerate throughout the round and are more consistent and easy to land. All these changes, combined with nerfs on other characters, have helped Skye to shine in Valorant.
2 Viper
One of the previously weakest characters in Valorant, Viper, is now considered the best option for control. Her only nerf in 3.0 was reducing the duration of her snake bite from 8 seconds to 6.5 and increasing its cost to 200, only to make her less strong in post-plant situations.
With all the other control agents receiving bigger nerfs, Viper rises to the top as one of the strong characters in Episode 3 since the rest of her kit remained unchanged.
1 Sova
Sova only received nerfs in 3.0 in the form of spell cost and cooldown increase. Nevertheless, his utility is top-notch, as he can consistently provide his team with the best information possible before pushing a site, especially if he is at the hands of a solid player who knows some great arrow lineups.
Although Sova players will have to be more conservative in the way they use their utility, that utility is enough to significantly affect the outcome of each round.
