Lagertha is aware that Harald is wise and that’s why he is hiding the truth. His thoughts about people being truthful mirror her own actions. Throughout her relationship with Ragnar, she never mentions to him that Bjorn is not his son but Rollo’s. Sharing the truth would definitely signal the end of her relationship.

Lagertha and Aslaug remain foes up until the latter’s death. When Lagertha fulfills her dream of becoming Kattegat’s ruler, Aslaug renounces herself as queen. She asks Lagertha why she would usurp a fellow woman, to which Lagertha responds by reminding Aslaug that she is the one who took Ragnar from her. For this reason, she is the usurper.

Lagertha implies that love and happiness are greater than any territory by claiming that Aslaug is the true usurper. It’s still hard to justify her bitter feelings towards Aslaug since she also cheated on Ragnar with Rollo. But Lagertha believes what she believes so she goes on to shoot Aslaug with an arrow instead of letting her go into exile.
