Since it was first announced, fans have eagerly awaited more news on the upcoming Disney+ series, WandaVision. Set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the show centers around Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany). Of course, with Vision’s death in Avengers: Infinity War, there were plenty of questions on how this would work.

Audiences got a short teaser earlier this year but the first official trailer finally dropped. Honestly, it ended up raising even more questions as it looks like a wacky trip through Wanda’s fragile psyche. Although the trailer did detail some major things, there are bits that were likely not caught by most viewers.

10 The Mind Stone Is Back

When Vision was killed in Avengers: Infinity War, it was by Thanos in his quest to retrieve every Infinity Stone. Thanos plucked it from his skull and Vision was done for. However, a close look at the trailer reveals that the Mind Stone is safely in Vision’s head again.

WandaVision is confirmed to take place after Avengers: Endgame, so that shouldn’t be possible. One can assume that if this is something Wanda did with her reality-bending abilities, she chose to keep the stone intact. Not only is it part of Vision but it was from the stone that Wanda got her powers in the first place.

9 Vision’s Touch

Comic book fans know just how powerful Vision is. That was evident in the films as well when he casually lifted Mjolnir in Avengers: Age of Ultron. His powers seemed to lessen in later movies, so viewers probably haven’t seen all that he has to offer.

So, it certainly came as a surprise to see that he had an impact on Kathryn Hahn’s character in the trailer. She seemed to be in a trance until he touched her. When he did, some kind of yellow energy was quickly shown. It seemed to be from the Mind Stone and somehow woke her up. It could be an interesting indication of what he’s capable of in this world.

8 Twins

One of the quicker shots from the trailer showed Wanda and Vision each holding a baby. It would seem to indicate that they are twins, which lines up with Wanda and her twin brother Pietro/Quicksilver. To further add to this, one has to look to the comics.

There, Scarlet Witch used magic to create twin children for herself and Vision. Things go horribly wrong after they were incorporated back into the demon from which they were made. While that demon (Mephisto) hasn’t been introduced in the MCU yet, this seems like a nod to the storyline.

7 Vision’s Old Costume

One of the highlights of the short teaser that fans got in early 2020 was seeing Wanda sporting the Scarlet Witch costume from the comics. It looks a bit cheesy but longtime Marvel followers couldn’t help but appreciate it and get excited. Well, this trailer showed she’s not alone.

There’s a shot of Vision also wearing his costume from the comics. It looks pretty funny, especially when compared to his usual outfit. The reason for this look might’ve also been explained as a lot of the trailer seemed to take place around Halloween.

6 Agatha Harkness?

Marvel has been suspiciously tight-lipped about who Kathryn Hahn is playing. All that fans knew was that she’d be a “nosy neighbor.” The trailer seems to cover a lot of situations and Hahn’s character somehow finds herself as part of most if, which is curious.

More curious is that closed captioning has listed her name as Agnes. Fans have theorized that it’s a cover for her actually being Agatha Harkness. Agatha is a powerful witch (Hahn is shown wearing a witch’s costume, presumably for Halloween) who guides Wanda to the magic to create her children. Could she be the one who taught the MCU version how to alter reality?

5 Vision’s Search

Most signs have pointed to the idea that this is all some kind of world created by Wanda as she struggles to cope with the loss of Vision. She was snapped out of existence soon after Vision died and returned just in time to fight in Avengers: Endgame, so she hasn’t had time to mourn and grieve.

The trailer showed Vision flying above this world, giving the indication that he’s sentient and is searching for some answers. This could ultimately pose some serious questions for Wanda as you’d have to imagine that Vision wouldn’t be happy with this idea.

4 The Eras Change

When the trailer begins, it looks like Wanda and Vision are living a suburban life set in the 1950s. It’s in black and white, there’s a nosy neighbor, and seemingly even a nod to Bewitched. However, things go awry when they’re questioned about having kids and Vision finds a gap in his backstory.

Things seem to rewind and you get the sense that Wanda is trying to “fix” things. They come back in color, seemingly in a ’70s or ’80s environment, which is made really clear by Agnes’s outfit and hair. Also, Wanda asks, “Is this really happening?” which suggests she might not be in full control.

3 House Of M Wine

This is the smallest detail pointed out here but it’s something really cool. Early on in the trailer, Wanda and Vision have two people over for dinner. The man is named Arthur and while the woman is unnamed, she is played by Debra Jo Rupp of That ’70s Show fame.

The wine served is called Maison du Mépris. In French, “Mépris” mean “contempt,” which is interesting in itself. However, “Maison du” means “House of” and the bottle has a large “M” on it. That is a clear nod to the famous “House of M” storyline where Wanda has a mental breakdown after the loss of her children and it leads to devastating consequences.

2 Monica Rambeau

The end of the trailer ultimately revealed two very interesting things. One was the appearance of Monica Rambeau. Most fans probably caught the clear shot of the woman but might not have recognized her. That’s okay because so far in the MCU, Monica was only seen as a child. She’s a show-stealer in Captain Marvel, set in the ’90s.

An adult now (Teyonah Paris), she was one of the most intriguing additions to the WandaVision cast. Her role is uncertain yet but in the comics, she becomes quite powerful. The other surprising cast members, Kat Dennings (Darcy Lewis from Thor) and Randall Park (Jimmy Woo from Ant-Man and the Wasp) weren’t shown.

1 The Perimeter

Some bits of the trailer, including the appearance of Monica, indicate that Wanda hasn’t changed everything. Instead, she might only be taking over a town and using it to create her own small world. One clip even seems to show Monica getting launched out of that reality.

Before the shot of Monica’s face, you can see that there seem to be boundaries to this town. It looks like a military permiter has been set up, presumably outside of the town. It’s as if they’re trying to contain whatever Wanda’s doing and suggests that it is affecting others.
