What Bugs In Animal Crossing New Horizons Are Worth The Most

There are many different bug species that island residents can catch in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Insects can be found in a variety of locations such as in trees, on flowers or stumps, on the beach, or even on villagers. The availability of different bugs changes depending on the player’s selected hemisphere, the time of year, the time of day, and even the weather. However, there are some bug species that are always worth more Bells than others.

Animal Crossing residents capture bugs by using a net, which can be crafted or purchased from Nook’s Cranny. If players do not want to keep their bug catches for themselves, they can be donated to Blathers at the Museum, sold at Nook’s, or given to villagers as pets. Alternatively, players can save their insects for Flick, a red chameleon who periodically visits islands. Flick is a bug enthusiast who can be commissioned to make a bug model for island decoration if he is presented with three of the same bug. Additionally, Flick will pay 150% of bugs’ usual value during his visits.

There are 80 different species of insects in New Horizons, and some are rarer than others. It is to the benefit of players to catch as many different bug species as possible for the Museum and to fill out the insect page in the Critterpedia app on the NookPhone. Residents who are able to catch all 80 species will be rewarded with the Golden Net DIY recipe. However, if players are looking to sell their catches for Bells to fund other areas of their islands, there are certain Animal Crossing bug species that net higher profits.

Animal Crossing Bug Species That Sell For The Most Bells

Insects in Animal Crossing: New Horizons sell for a wide range of prices. For example, the least expensive bugs are cicada shells and flies, which will earn residents 10 Bells and 60 Bells respectively. Most bugs, though, are sold for a few hundred Bells. However, a few rare bug species can be sold for much more.

The New Horizons’ bugs that are worth the most Bells are the Horned Hercules, the Giraffe Stag, and the Golden Stag. These insects are sold at Nook’s Cranny for 12,000 Bells apiece, significantly more than most other species in ACNH. And since Flick is willing to pay premium prices for bugs, if players can hold on to catches from these species until he visits their island, they will earn a whopping 18,000 Bells for each bug. Animal Crossing: New Horizons Northern Hemisphere players can find all three of these bugs on trees from 5 pm to 8 am until the end of August for huge Bell payouts.
