What Pokémon Legends Arceus Shiny Hisuian Variants Could Look Like

As the release date approaches, Pokémon Legends: Arceus’ Hisuian forms continue to be announced via trailers alongside new gameplay footage, creating speculation on what these new forms could look like when Shiny. Shiny Pokémon have become a prize addition to player teams in recent years, with the alternate colorations of standard Pokémon species inspiring YouTube streams, new Shiny variation Pokémon TCG cards, and even anime appearances. However, the new regional forms for Pokémon Legends: Arceus have not included any hints about possible Shiny colorations, leaving these new appearances up to speculation.

Hunting Shiny Pokémon in any game is not an easy task. In Pokémon Sword and Shield, the base possible encounter rate for finding a Shiny Pokémon is 1 in 4096. While there are ways to increase the odds through encountering Brilliant Aura Pokémon and obtaining the Shiny Charm, both of these options take time and patience, and won’t guarantee a Shiny’s appearance. It is likely Pokémon Legends: Arceus will also have similarly low rates for Shiny encounters. However, there is a chance Shiny hunting could get new boosts in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, though nothing has been confirmed via game trailers or updates.

While it likely won’t be possible to know for certain what the new Hisuian form Shiny Pokémon will look like until Pokémon Legends: Arceus is released, there are a few ways to speculate alternate colorations. Many of the Hisuian form Pokémon are based on designs already present in other regions. It is possible Shiny alternate colorations could have roots in original forms. This was seen with Ninetails and its Alolan regional form. Both versions have a Shiny coloration that is an ashy purple, despite their standard colors being very different. It can also be seen in Zigzagoon and its Galarian form. While the Shiny colors are different, both forms for Zigzagoon sport highly saturated colors for the Shiny variation.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus Hisuian Braviary Shiny Possibilities

What Pokémon Legends Arceus Shiny Hisuian Variants Could Look Like

Braviary is a Pokémon originally introduced in the 5th Generation of the Pokémon series, in Black and White. Its standard form has a Flying/Normal-type, while the new Hisuian form of Braviary is Psychic/Flying. Despite the type change and thick plumage designed for colder weather, Hisuian Braviary hasn’t changed dramatically from its standard form. Because of this, it is possible the Shiny variation will be similar to its standard form, with slight color changes to the body and white-tipped feathers. It is also possible the coloration of its psychic markings on its head ruffle will obtain a brightly saturated color change in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, making its Shiny variation stand out.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus Hisuian Growlithe Shiny Possibilities

What Pokémon Legends Arceus Shiny Hisuian Variants Could Look Like

Growlithe is part of the original 150 Pokémon from the Kanto region in Red, Blue, and Yellow. The spunky, dog-like Fire-type has been a popular addition to Pokémon teams throughout all eight generations of the Pokémon series. This is the first time Growlithe will receive a regional form. Hisuian Growlith has been given the Fire/Rock-type, which is a powerful combination for those wanting a diverse typeset for a team. Like many Shiny Pokémon from the Kanto area, Growlithe’s original Shiny variation is a simple change from orange to gold.

Because Hisuian Growlithe’s color pallet in Pokémon Legends: Arceus has been changed to a deep, orange-red, keeping a gold Shiny variation would make it look regal and tasteful when battling alongside its trainer. It is also possible its cloudy, white fluff could get a saturated change, or it could stay white to offer a subtle highlight on any other color.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus Hisuian Zorua & Zoroark Shiny Possibilities

What Pokémon Legends Arceus Shiny Hisuian Variants Could Look Like

Zorua and Zoroark have become popular Dark-type Pokémon since their debut in Pokémon Black and White. The original Unova forms are adorable with black fur and red color points. However, their Shiny variations change these color points, with Zorua sporting a sharp, saturated blue, and Zoroark accented in purple. The new, Normal/Ghost-type Hisuian forms of both these Pokémon are very similar, with the black traded for white, and the red color points now fading to pink in spots. It is very possible each Pokémon could emulate the original Shiny variation color points in their Hisuian forms, with Hisuian Zorua in icy blue, and Zoroark in purple. It is also possible a new color could be chosen and used for both Pokémon to keep a uniform appearance while Shiny.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus Hisuian Voltorb Shiny Possibilities

The Hisuian form of Voltorb is the most recent addition to the new regional form line-up players will be seeing in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Like Growlithe, Voltorb originates from Kanto and is known for powerful Electric-type moves as well as a striking resemblance to a Poké Ball. Hisuian Voltorb is no exception and has gained the Electric/Grass-type to match the wooden Poké Balls of the Hisuian region. While Voltorb is traditionally red and white, the Shiny variation of the Pokémon is blue and white. While this ruins its illusion as an item, the sharp blue is a fun change to see in battle and gives the otherwise simple design a pop of color. While there is a chance Hisuian Voltorb will also be given a blue top when Shiny, it is also possible it could be green to match its new typing or it could gain a color that allows it to blend into the environments of the Hisuian region, like lavender or mint.

Currently, there are a number of regional forms missing from the confirmed list that will likely be announced as Pokémon Legends: Arceus’ release date in January creepy closer. Braviary is a second evolution, meaning a Hisuian of Rufflet is possible. It is also likely Hisuian Arcanine and Electrode will be confirmed, as past first evolutions with regional forms have been given regional evolutions as well. However, these regional forms may not be revealed until after the game releases, giving players the ability to uncover the mystery while playing. It is also possible further Pokémon species will be added to the regional forms list before or after Pokémon Legends: Arceus becomes available, expanding on the new appearances and types unique to the Hisuian region, and offering plenty of options for Pokémon teams while battling, exploring, and unraveling the secrets of the new game.
