The teaser for episode 6 of Amazon’s The Wheel of Time shows Moiraine facing pressure from the Aes Sedai. The series is adapted from the Robert Jordan fantasy novel series of the same name, which ran in 14 installments from 1990 to 2013. The final three novels were released posthumously with manuscripts completed by Brandon Sanderson. So far, the first season of Amazon Prime’s adaptation of the series, which premiered its first three episodes on November 19, 2021, is covering the plot of the first novel, The Eye of the World.

The Wheel of Time met instant success, bringing in tens of millions of viewers and becoming one of the top 5 Prime series premieres of all time as well as their #1 of 2021. The series follows Moiraine, a member of a group of women imbued with magical power known as the Aes Sedai. She has gathered a group of people, believing that one of them is the Dragon Reborn, a mythical figure whose reincarnated form is destined to either destroy the world or rescue it from ruin. The series stars Rosamund Pike as Moiraine alongside Madeleine Madden, Josha Stradowski, Marcus Rutherford, Zoë Robins, Barney Harris, and Daniel Henney.

Amazon Prime just dropped a brand new teaser for episode 6 of The Wheel of Time, which is titled “The Flame of Tar Valon” and airs on December 10, 2021. Following the events of episode 5, which diverged quite a bit from the storyline of the Wheel of Time novels, the teaser reiterates the grim reality that “the Dragon will either defeat the Dark One or join him.” The pressure increases when Moiraine is threatened by the Aes Sedai, and the trailer closes on the grim pronouncement that “there’s no turning back.” Check out the video below:

Because of the success of the series, Wheel of Time has already been renewed for season 2. The season, which began filming in July of this year, is scheduled to complete production in February 2022. The show has cast Guy Roberts as Uno Nomesta, Arnas Fedaravicius as Masema, and Gregg Chillingirian as Ingtar Shinowa, set to join the main ensemble of the season, which will likely begin to cover the second novel in the series, titled The Great Hunt.

The Wheel of Time will conclude its 8-episode first season on December 24, 2021. Given how it already diverges from the source material, it’s anyone’s guess as to how Moiraine’s current arc will conclude. However, if it aligns with the overall arc of the book series, there will be a great war on the horizon and her pursuit of the Dragon will reach a fever pitch by the finale.
