Based on the Garth Enns comic book series, The Boys is one of the wildest shows on Amazon Prime. It is set in a world where superheroes exist and are basically corporate-owned celebrities. They are also not very heroic, not caring if they kill innocent civilians in the course of “saving the day”. It is then up to a covert group of humans, led by Billy Butcher, to keep these superhero delinquents in check.

The hardcore tone of the show, mixing gore and dark humor, makes it a thrill to watch. But it is the colorful characters that provide the series with its real entertainment. 12 Rat – Frenchie

Frenchie is a member of Butcher’s team, and while he might not be the strongest fight, he is an asset. Frenchie is an incredibly resourceful person, like most rats. When they capture the hero Translucent, Frenchie is the one who comes up with a way to kill him.

Frenchie is a bit more reserved than the rest of the team. He is not a born leader and would rather have someone else in charge, but he is also flexible in challenging situations.

11 Ox – Butcher

In a world filled with dangerous superheroes, it takes an ox personality to challenge them. Butcher is a relentless animal when he has a goal in mind. Whether it is getting revenge on Homelander or reuniting with his family, nothing will stop him.

In that regard, Butcher’s ox stubbornness really comes through. He is not much better than the “supes” in terms of the destruction he is willing to cause to get what he wants.

10 Tiger – Homelander

Homelander is a psychopathic Superman-type character but that shouldn’t suggest all tigers are as evil as he is. In truth, Homelander does possess some of a tiger’s good qualities. He is confident, bold and a great leader of The Seven.

Of course, his confidence also gives him a god complex. His boldness convinces him he is untouchable. And he rules The Seven out of fear. And like tigers, he is not someone you want to make angry.

9 Rabbit – Ashley

One of the most interesting aspects of the show is how it depicts the corporate side of superheroes. There is much more concern put into how the public views these heroics than the heroics themselves.

Ashley is a key aspect of this part of the show as she is the corporate handler for The Seven. Though she tries to appear pleasant, she comes off as superficial. She is very cautious with her work, never wanting to upset the wrong people.

8 Dragon – Kimiko

Kimiko is the only female member of Butcher’s group as well as the only one with enhanced abilities. She doesn’t need words to communicate how powerful she is, like a true dragon.

There is never a challenge that Kimiko is willing to back down from. When she sees an important mission at hand, she will take risky and sometimes rash actions. While she is a member of the team, she’s also not afraid to be dominant when necessary.

7 Snake – Hughie

The audience’s surrogate to introduce us to this insane world is Hughie. He is a mild-mannered young man who wants revenge on The Seven when his girlfriend is killed by one of their members in an accident.

Hughie often finds himself in way over his head. He is constantly shocked and stressed out by the horrible things their team encounters. However, he is also the one who grounds the group and encourages them to think things through.

6 Horse – A-Train

The member of The Seven who was responsible for the death of Hughie’s girlfriend is a speedster supe named A-Train. Being the fastest being on the planet is a source of pride for him and he works very hard to maintain that title.

But A-Train is also weighed down heavily by those responsibilities. He pushes himself to the point that it endangers his health.

5 Goat – Mother’s Milk

One of the only people who can really stand up to Butcher and put him in his place is Mother’s Milk. While he isn’t afraid to talk back to Butcher, he is also not interested in being the leader of the group.

Despite his intimidating size, Mother’s Milk is a thoughtful and gentle guy. He is always there to motivate the others in the group. His calm nature is helpful even if he is a pessimist like most goats.

4 Monkey – The Deep

One of the most interesting characters in the show is The Deep, a member of The Seven who operates in the ocean and communicates with sea animals. He is also a serial predator whose disgusting actions against women send him on a journey of self-discovery.

He initially has a charming nature to him, but his true colors eventually come through. He doesn’t see anything wrong with the things he does until he is confronted with it. Losing the big city position in The Seven is a big punishment for him

3 Rooster – Stormfront

The newest member of The Seven is a powerful supe named Stormfront and it doesn’t take her long to establish her rooster personality. While the rest of the team is careful never to anger the corporate executives, Stormfront speaks her mind.

She is a confident hero who can often come off as arrogant. Her opinionated ways make her admired by some and hated by others, but she loves being the center of attention.

2 Dog – Starlight

The series begins with a new hero named Starlight fulfilling her lifelong dream of joining The Seven. However, she quickly finds out that it is not as heroic as she and the rest of the world were led to believe. This is hard for a dog personality to take.

Starlight is a loyal hero who actually wants to help people. But she also finds it hard to trust people. When she finds out that Hughie was lying to her, she can not bring herself to forgive him.

1 Pig – Queen Maeve

Queen Maeve is another interesting member of The Seven who is not what she first appears to be. Though she initially comes off as an uncaring supe, she is actually quite compassionate and makes a good companion to those truly close to her.

Maeve worked hard to get where she is but is now disillusioned with the superhero life. She is cautious to show her true feelings so as to protect the people she cares about.
