The Originals is a spin-off of the popular TV show The Vampire Diaries and it focuses on the first original vampires in history, or rather, the Mikaelsons. New characters are introduced and, as the story progresses, they change and grow but still retain the same outstanding traits that made audiences like them in the first place.

Although the series wrapped up a few years ago and a new spin-off has begun with Legacies, the loyal and passionate fanbase of every Vampire Diaries series continues to go through the seasons multiple times, gaining a new appreciation for various aspects. Among those are the layered characters, which only adds to what makes them stand out when it comes to the signs of the zodiac.

Aries: Marcel Gerard

Marcel Gerard is one of the strongest characters of the show, and he also caused a lot of trouble to the Mikaelsons throughout the seasons. He never gave up on his beliefs and battles, and despite often losing his fights, with persistence he managed to eventually become dangerous, even to the original vampires.

His characterizing traits are determination, courage, honesty, and confidence, which are all qualities typical of the Aries sign. They are well known for their fierceness and active energy, which Marcel embodied more than anyone else on the series.

Taurus: Freya Mikaelson

She’s the older sister from the Mikaelson family and not a vampire, but a very powerful witch. Since the family first welcomed her back, Freya has always been available to help them in any way possible, often succeeding, thanks to her knowledge and powers.

The typical Taurus traits that she presents are patience, liability, stability, and allegiance (to her family). Freya is a lot stronger than she looks, not just as a witch, but as a person, too, which was crucial in how she interacted with her siblings.

Gemini: Davina Claire

Davina Claire’s a very powerful witch: she brought chaos and threat multiple times throughout the story until she finally fell in love with Kol – just like her mentor, Marcel, who stood against the Mikaelsons while being in love with one of them, Rebekah.

She’s curious and kind to people and also capable of learning quickly, especially when it comes to magic. It’s easy for her to grow fond of someone, therefore, she falls into the Gemini sign. She also has shown to be both incredibly sweet and brutally vicious, displaying two sides of her personality often.

Cancer: Hayley Marshall

Hayley Marshall is one of the strongest and most determined characters, especially when it comes to protecting her daughter, her family, or her fellow werewolves. So when it comes to the wolves of her pack, indeed, she has been the leader, along with Jackson, and managed to attain multiple advantages for them.

For the most part, Hayley Marshall exhibits the typical Cancer traits, as she’s tenacious, compassionate, loyal, and persuasive – getting what she wanted never was a problem, even when she went up against the mighty Mikaelsons.

Leo: Rebekah Mikaelson

What makes Rebekah Mikaelson stand out among the original vampires is her openness to feelings and love. She can be cruel and deadly, however, she dreams of finding love and cares deeply about the people around her who are important to her.

She’s a Leo because of her kind heart, passion, and confidence. Rebekah is strong and open and she’s not missing the typical drama of this zodiac sign. At times, she can also be stubborn and arrogant, which fits this sign.

Virgo: Jackson Kenner

Jackson Kenner is Hayley’s first husband and ex-alpha of the Crescent wolf pack. His Virgo qualities show off from his very first appearance. He’s always loyal, to both Hayley and the pack, as well as hardworking, practical, and also quite generous.

Just like people of the Scorpio sign, he’s obsessive and quite distrusting, as he proves in the first season mostly – especially when he gets obsessed with being the King of the city. Klaus is extremely violent and jealous, too.

Sagittarius: Hope Mikaelson

Hope Mikaleson, daughter of Hayley and Niklaus, has always been a pivotal element to the show, even before being born. When she’s officially introduced in the last two seasons, she shows to be bold and fiery (as she has proven in Legacies, too).

Like most Sagittarians, she’s very positive in her approach to life and people, and she’s so generous that she’ll do absurd things to help people. However, this is where she often goes from being positive to idealistic and turns out to be incapable to keep the promises she makes. In fact, she causes a lot of trouble in her high school.

Capricorn: Elijah Mikaelson

Elijah is the Mikaelson sibling known for his elegance and disciplined manners, which is why he falls into the Capricorn category. This zodiac sign is characterized by being good leaders, self-controlling, and responsible.

Elijah always tried to be the voice of reason, especially to Klaus. Although he sometimes took the wrong path, he’s the disciplined one. However, one of the Capricorn flaws he exhibits is his know-it-all attitude.

Aquarius: Cami O’Connell

Camille O’Connell was one of the best and most human characters on the show. Just like most Aquarians, she’s compassionate, kind, independent, and original.

She managed to see good in Klaus and to make him a better person, and although she’s surrounded by dangerous and strong creatures, she often independently faces difficult situations and handles people. Other qualities typical of this sign are humanitarianism and progressivism, which fans also see in Camille.

Pisces: Caroline Forbes

Caroline Forbes returned to The Originals as a new, independent woman. Her zodiac sign is Pisces, for her compassion, intuition, and wiseness, which she often shows off while looking after the “Salvatore Boarding School for the Young & Gifted” and the kids that attend it.

Even when confronting Klaus, she no longer is a young and clumsy girl, but a wise woman who’s been through a lot and knows how to handle people around her.
