Who Does Naruto Marry At The End of His Story

Since the start of Naruto Uzumaki’s story, Naruto was on a never ending journey to becoming the hokage of his home of Konoha, the leaf village. However, there was another long-term goal which Naruto would wind up fulfilling… in the form of his marriage to Hinata Hyuga.

There may not have been much room for love or happy endings in the high stakes’ world of Naruto but Naruto and Hinata’s marriage was certainly a long time coming. Hinata was infatuated with the jinchuriki of the nine tailed fox since childhood, though Naruto would prove oblivious to Hinata’s feelings throughout most of the manga. Following the long awaited marriage, Hinata would give birth to Naruto’s two children: Himawari and Boruto Uzumaki with the latter currently leading his own sequel series Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, in both manga and anime form.

Hinata makes her first appearance in volume 4 (chapter 34) of the original Naruto manga series, as a royal member of the powerful Hyuga clan, along with her cousin Neji, another leaf village ninja and former rival of Naruto’s. Hinata, Neji, and the remainder of the Hyuga clan possess the power of the Byakugan, a kekkei genkai which grants its user enhanced vision and tracking as well as a fixed accuracy when performing attacks against others. Neji’s eventual death during the Fourth Shinobi World War in the manga’s climax would bring Naruto and Hinata even closer together.

Hinata and Naruto were both keen on strengthening their developing power set and ninja abilities. While there was a strong chemistry between Naruto and fellow Team 7 member Sakura Haruno, Naruto and Sakura’s relationship would remain that of a close friendship. Hinata would be the one to ultimately win over Naruto’s huge heart whereas Sakura would become tied down with the last member of Team 7 and her own childhood crush Sasuke Uchiha.

Long before their marriage, Naruto’s persevering influence would transform Hinata from a shy introvert to a much more powerful and confident Hyuga, inside and out. Hinata never received the same amount of spotlight in the main series as other characters such as Sasuke, Kakashi, or Orochimaru but the character has been there with her feelings for Naruto since the start, so the relationship doesn’t feel out of the ordinary. The massive amount of filler of the Naruto anime would expand on even more of the relationship between Naruto and Hinata. Hinata’s prolonged duel with Akatsuki leader Pain to prevent Naruto’s death is also a fan favorite moment not given as much weight in the manga.

After all the pain and hardships that Naruto’s parents Minato and Kushina had to endure to make sure that their son would be born, it’s gratifying that Naruto gets some form of a happy ending for his series.
