10 Woody Woodpecker

9 Fantasia Characters
Of all the Disney films in the massive vault, Fantasia is one of the most unparalleled films of its kind combining inventive storytelling with classical numbers. And some of those segments remain iconic to this day including “The Sorceror’s Apprentice” and “Dance of the Hours”, involving Hyacinth Hippo.
This conveyed Zemeckis’s ambition right out the gate with Bob Hoskin’s character Eddie Valiant running into Hippo as well as the dancing mops from the “Apprentice” segment during the first twenty minutes of this live-action/animation hybrid. 8 Dumbo
What’s not to love about Dumbo? Everyone’s favorite flying elephant with his giant ears was one of the first Disney cameos to break through the Who Framed Roger Rabbit cartoon-verse and he does so with a bang. Quite literally because the floppy-eared character startles Bob Hoskins during the film’s first acquaintance to Eddie Valiant.
The character’s appearance is short-lived but is a giant appetizer to the smorgasbord of cartoon cameos that would arrive later in the film. And to think, the famous elephant probably offered his presence in the movie for just a few peanuts.
7 Betty Boop
Betty Boop is a legend in her own right in the same breath as characters like Lola Bunny or even Lois from Family Guy. The animated character who originally began her iconic run in 1930 was a sexy femme fatale and continues to be a symbol of female empowerment to this day. This made her the perfect cartoon cameo to introduce viewers to Jessica Rabbit in the film.
Between her flirty demeanor and signature catchphrase, “Boop-oop-a-doop,” this famous animated pinup gave Who Framed Roger Rabbit more flavor inside the crazy and loony environment. Not to mention, the scene served as a passing of the torch to the wife of Roger Rabbit.
6 Yosemite Sam
Some may or may not agree but Yosemite Sam is one of the most underrated animated characters in the Looney Tunes archive. His gruff southern accent and over-the-top personality make for a hilarious foe against characters like Daffy and Bugs in the old iconic cartoons.
His appearances in Who Framed Roger Rabbit might’ve been brief but Yosemite Sam teased major crossovers to come with the movie being the first time Warner Brothers and Disney worked together. It would also serve as the first glimpse of Toon Town as Sam flies out of the environment with his “biscuits” on fire.
5 Porky Pig and Tink
As stated, this was the first major crossover for Disney and Warner Brothers and because of this, moments like this were possible. Plus, it would not be a perfect ending without Porky Pig giving the fans his flashy send-off.
But unlike most of the Looney Tunes shorts that end with Porky saying “That’s all folks,” this one had a cherry on top with Tinkerbell splashing her fairy wand on Porky while cutting to credits. It was the perfect capper to a film that was already filled with magic and wonder.
4 Tweety Bird
Just like Yosemite Sam, the small and sassy Tweety Bird does not get enough love in the cartoon world. Her shenanigans are subtle, simple, and hilariously executed as a creature unwittingly causing mischief. And her scene with Bob Hoskins is one of the funniest cameos of the entire film.
Adding to the hilarity of the scene is Tweety’s pronunciation of the word “piggy” as “piddy” as she counts how many “piddies went to the market” And as Valiant holds on for dear life as Tweety “runs out of piddies,” Tweety’s goofball innocence as the scenario unfolds only adds to the greatness of the cameo.
3 The Mighty Ducks On Piano
Who Framed Roger Rabbit was also a shining example of a crossover film taking advantage of its full potential. And in the case of this movie, it was showing what happens when two mega studios take their famous ducks and unleash them on the same stage.
Witnessing Daffy and Donald battle it out on dueling pianos was the equivalent of cookies and milk. It’s a delight of a sequence and rings true to the spirit of both animated powerhouses. And most of all, it’s one of the best-executed cameos of the whole film.
2 Droopy Dog
Of all the Who Framed Roger Rabbit cameos, Droopy Dog’s appearance does not get enough love from the online community. The lethargic Basset hound with his monotone demeanor steals the show quickly and disappears soon after, but the scene with Eddie Valiant in the extremely dangerous elevator is a showstopper.
Each time he ends a sentence with “sir” it makes the audience break because he does so with such apathy. It’s truly hard to say who cares less: Droopy Dog or the Honey Badger. But still, that’s what makes this cameo one of the best in the film. His screwball antics are enforced with such dry sensibilities.
1 Bugs Bunny and Mickey Mouse
This is potentially one of the most iconic crossover moments in history. And this is not even counting the Looney Tunes and DC Comics crossovers in the comic book pantheon. Nothing tops the magic as a child more than seeing two animated legends– Bugs Bunny and Mickey Mouse– fly onscreen to crack some hijinks on some unsuspecting victim.
For children of all ages, this single moment would match the same level of epicness if DC and Marvel decided to put Iron Man and Batman on the same screen. And for animation, it might be decades before viewers see two powerhouses collide in a movie like this again.
