Why Felix Doesnt Kill [SPOILER] In Walking Dead World Beyond

Warning! SPOILERS ahead for The Walking Dead: World Beyond season 2 episode 4.

Despite Huck’s betrayal, Felix (Nico Tortorella) passed on an opportunity to get revenge and kill her in The Walking Dead: World Beyond. Introduced as best friends in the beginning of the series, Huck (Annet Mahendru) and Felix now stand on opposite sides of the conflict with the CRM. Felix, who once refused to consider the prospect of Huck working against them, now treats her as a hated adversary.

Felix, who hasn’t seen Huck or Hope (Alexa Mansour) since the season 1 finale, crossed paths with them again in The Walking Dead: World Beyond season 2, episode 4, titled “Family is a Four Letter Word”. Furious over her manipulative behavior and the horrors committed by the CRM, Felix nearly killed Huck and came close to letting a zombie bite her. But as angry as he was with her over everything she had done, Felix ultimately spared her and helped Will (Jelani Alladin) save her from Percy (Ted Sutherland). Had Felix made different decisions, the character responsible for Hope being handed over to Elizabeth (Julia Ormond) would have been removed from the equation and Tony’s death could have been avenged.

Felix opting not to kill Huck can be attributed to a couple important factors. First of all, not killing Huck in The Walking Dead: World Beyond speaks to the bond they shared and the idea that it may not be gone. There may be a part of him that continues to values the friend she once was. Felix could still be holding on to hope that Huck is still the person he used to trust. But their years of friendship doesn’t appear to be the biggest thing that was holding him back. Felix promising to kill her later is indicative of a different motivation for sparing her.

Why Felix Doesnt Kill [SPOILER] In Walking Dead World Beyond

Later in the episode, Felix was alarmed when he saw Percy coming out of the armory. He told Will that if Percy were to go after Huck, he could get them all killed. That demonstrates a sense of understanding on Felix’s part in regards to Huck’s importance to the CRM. Her death would bring the organization down upon them and paint targets on their backs, severely limiting their chances of survival. That’s why Felix and Will went to so much effort to stop Percy from shooting Huck. They weren’t just saving Huck – they were saving themselves.

Allowing Huck to live in The Walking Dead: World Beyond could have major, positive ramifications for the main characters going forward. While Huck was most certainly a villain in season 1, she’s shaping up to have a different role in season 2’s story. Huck’s interactions with Felix and Will seemed to go a long way toward shaking her trust in her mother and the CRM over what happened at Omaha and the Campus Colony. If that continues, she may switch sides during a pivotal moment when Hope and her friends will need her most. Escaping from the CRM could depend on her assistance.
