Winter House star Andrea Denver wished superstar Taylor Swift a happy birthday on Twitter, but her fans think he was using the star for clout.

Winter House star Andrea Denver is in hot water with Taylor Swift’s devoted “Swifties” after wishing the superstar a happy birthday on Twitter. The global pop star turned 32 on December 13th and celebrated alongside Haim band member and best friend, Alana Haim. Model Martha Hunt and actress Diana Silvers were also in attendance, and both snapped a photo with the singer-songwriter at her party. Taylor posted pictures from her birthday party to her social media accounts and assured fans that everyone at the party had been tested for COVID-19 before attending.

Andrea stars in both Bravo’s Winter House, set in Stowe, Vermont, and Summer House, set in the Long Island beach town, Montauk. He recently angered fans of the show when he started a romance with co-star Paige, only to say later that he enjoys being single. Fans believed the reality tv star was leading Paige on. Prior to his time on the show, Andrea was a model and starred in Taylor Swift’s 2014 “Blank Space” music video as her potential next lover after her former boyfriend runs off. The model expressed his love for Taylor’s music in November, sharing on Twitter that he was listening to her rerecorded album, Red (Taylor’s Version.)

When the singer-songwriter turned 32 on December 13th, the Winter House star posted a selfie of himself in a white robe and wrote, “Happy birthday @taylorswift13. Will always be a big fan of your music.” Fans were quick to question why the star posted a photo of himself for a birthday shout-out to Taylor Swift. One fan, walterpic13les, promptly responded, “Oh come on. This post isn’t about Taylor and you know it. You know Swifties thirst over you and you’re just using Taylor’s birthday for clout.”

Fans agreed with the user as their response received over 500 likes. Other fans even joked the tweet was reminiscent of when Ryan Reynolds jokingly wished wife Blake Lively a happy birthday by posting a photo of the two of them and cropping Blake out. However, not all swifties were mad over the star’s birthday post. Some fans didn’t mind at all as they find Andrea very good-looking and understand that he has a legit connection to her career. They even responded to the tweet with some of Taylor’s romantic song lyrics which she’s written in the past about crushes or her current boyfriend, Joe Alwyn.

Maybe some Taylor Swift fans weren’t happy with the Winter House star’s birthday post for Taylor, but you can’t blame him for trying. However, it’s understandable why it upset her fans. The singer has some of the most loyal and dedicated fans of any celebrity in Hollywood, and they’re not going to let someone try to leech off of her success. Taylor has not responded to Andrea’s birthday post, though she did post a thank you to everyone who sent her birthday wishes.
