From Wonder Woman to Deathstroke, these already established DCEU characters could easily make up the core team of a Justice League Dark movie.

The DCEU is home to some of the most iconic heroes and villains from the comic books. For many years there’s been talk of a Justice League Dark movie in development, dealing with some of the supernatural elements of this expanding universe.
Until recently, there weren’t enough heroes to form such a spectacular team. But with the recent expansion of the Multiverse, the announcement of other heroes confirmed to exist in this universe, as well as the pre-existing characters that fans have seen on screen, a team might actually be quite easily formed. Perhaps just in time for an announcement of a Justice League Dark movie.
10 Wonder Woman
One of the inspirational qualities of Wonder Woman is that she’s a born leader. She’s therefore the best fit for the Justice League Dark as team captain, a role she has held in the comics previously. She is well versed in the supernatural.
After facing a number of significant threats such as Ares and the Cheetah, she is certainly prepared for a new challenge. Diana is also pretty familiar when it comes to working in a team, after being a key member of the Justice League.
9 Doctor Fate
Doctor Fate has been confirmed to be a key member of the Justice Society, actually taking on more of a team leadership role. With his fate sealed for the DCEU, it makes sense this long term collaborator in the comics would join the Justice League Dark.
As someone with a deep knowledge of the magical arts and some of the more supernatural elements of the universe, it’s completely logical to have Doctor Fate on the team; especially because he could become a very wise tactician.
8 Enchantress
The Enchantress is a sorceress and witch who previously appeared in the DCEU as a villain. However, the character can be controlled when the Enchantress possesses someone powerful enough to actually pull her into line.
Such an ancient being would be completely invaluable to the team. In fact, since she is a past threat, she could likely provide an insight for the group they’d never considered. It’s always useful to have darkness on the team’s side, especially if they can produce an army.
7 Shazam
Shazam has his own connection to the mystic arts. For starters, he did gain his abilities thanks to the work of an old wizard. What’s more, he’s fought against the Seven Deadly Sins, a physical embodiment of biblical teachings.
The character has been a part of the Justice League Dark in the comics and while he has not been a member of the Justice League in the DCEU, this could be the perfect team to bring him in on, as an inexperienced but powerful addition.
6 John Constantine
John Constantine has been portrayed in the Arrowverse for a while. After the DCEU crossover during Crisis On Infinite Earths, this iteration of the character is now a part of the much larger Multiverse. It wouldn’t be a stretch to see him brought into the cinematic universe.
Constantine is an absolutely vital member of the team in the comics. As some who has all but mastered the dark arts, he provides a very unique perspective and set of skills for an incredibly diverse team. He also has a vast amount of experience to draw on.
5 Black Adam
Black Adam has been a confirmed member of the DCEU ever since the Rock was cast in the role. Fans know more than ever about the upcoming film starring the anti-hero, but his career in this expanded universe is only just beginning.
The character has dabbled with the team in the comics and would make an interesting addition if he was to be fighting alongside Shazam. This could be a compelling way to bring the characters together for the first time, with Black Adam featuring a similar ancient Egyptian, mystical background.
4 Raven
Much like John Constantine, the expanded universe involves a version of the Titans, with members such as Beast Boy, Robin, and most importantly, Raven. She is the most powerful and most dangerous member of the team.
Having worked on a team previously and featuring abilities strong enough to likely travel through the Multiverse, this daughter of Trigon could perhaps someday outmatch senior members of the group like Wonder Woman. With the show moving to HBO Max it’s possible it gains a larger focus from the wider universe.
3 Swamp-Thing
Swamp-Thing is also in this expanded universe. It’s possible that he becomes a larger part of the Arrowverse, with teases that he could appear alongside some of the already established heroes. But his place could be in the DCEU.
The DC Universe character has been a long-serving member of the Justice League Dark in the comics and while the show left a lot of unanswered questions thanks to its cancellation, it will give fans a satisfying end and a new beginning to Swamp-Thing.
2 Batman
Batman has faced down the darkness many times. He isn’t a traditional member of the Justice League Dark by any means, but this grittier version of the character feels like a natural fit for a DCEU version of the team.
Acting as the veteran of the group who really has seen it all, Batman could utilize his technology and knowledge of the supernatural from villains like R’as Al Ghul, to assist the team perhaps even as the guy in the chair.
1 Deathstroke
Deathstroke’s daughter Ravager has been a member of the Titans in the cinematic Multiverse and the Justice League Dark in the comics. It would be an interesting twist to bring her father into the equation though.
Deathstroke was so briefly teased in the DCEU that fans have been clamoring for more. Perhaps this hired hand would actually make a compelling choice to add to the Justice League Dark, as the wild card of the group.
