Mysteriously, Heracles never took off his helmet during this period, creating a distinct mystery around an otherwise goofy character. His unwillingness to show his face is ironic, given how openly he proclaims his identity without solicitation. If Usopp caught him with his helmet off, he never commented on it.

While Diavolo did not wear a mask or helmet, he had a different method of concealing his identity, which was to simply not be seen by anyone. In a desperate situation, Diavolo has a second method for keeping his true face hidden. By transforming into Doppio, he was able to fool Bucciarati and even momentarily Risotto about who he really was.

Since he also biologically engineered his body to assume bug-like qualities, it’s reasonable to assume that the face beneath his mask might be horrifying. For better or worse, Company Eight has yet to see his true identity.

Many of the villain’s Nen abilities were contingent on the holes he made in his body. By entering a special dance, he could play unique frequencies like a human flute that would harm adversaries. By covering himself in bandages under ordinary conditions, Bonolenov ensures that he doesn’t accidentally subject his allies to his power.

Amon wore a mask in almost every scene he was featured. It gave his Equalist movement a terrifying figurehead and made him an enigma to the vexed authorities of Republic City.

Since he said that a firebender scarred his face, it made sense to keep it hidden in order to maintain the lie he crafted. Inosuke loves wearing his pig mask since it captures his belligerent essence well. It’s also remarkably appropriate to his fighting style, as observed by Tanjiro during their first encounter with one another.

Inosuke is usually only willing to take his helmet off in order to eat or recover from serious injuries. In the rare instances where his true face is shown, he is a surprisingly youthful man with soft features that hide his aggressive personality.
