Also, there are definitely some issues with the Pocahontas story as told by Disney overall that makes it hard to root for the relationship. It’s definitely an instance of the Disney-fied version of a story being overly romanticized.

“Love Is An Open Door” is a rather catchy song that’s hard to get out of your head, and on its surface, it seems like a cute song about falling in love. However, given the fact that Hans turns out to be the villain of the movie, it’s hard to view it the same way in the end. While the idea of love opening up new views and ideas in life is a sweet thought, the fact that Hans was lying all along is really disturbing and makes the song not so lovely.
